The park itself is beautiful and the trails are fun- poorly organized with markets but you won’t get lost- now the campsites are one of the worst I have stayed at. You are right on top of your neighbors with zero privacy. Then there is...More

My daughters and I picked up my niece from NYC for a weekend camping trip! We’ve had a beautiful weekend here, from Check In to Check Out! Young lady at the registration desk was super friendly! Some of the campsites are pretty close, but we...More

While state park camping is usually less expensive than at private campgrounds, you often get less amenities. This location is no different. Fire rings, wooden tables etc. Seems a little tired looking but great place with water and plenty of woods and hiking.

First, I’m not sure what other campgrounds other reviewers have stayed at, but the sites at this state park are actually large compared to other private and public campgrounds. As with all campgrounds, all sites are not created equal and there are plenty of huge...More

The Grounds of the park were very nice, and the hiking trails were really good and easy to follow. One even overlooks the Hudson River. They also start right at campground which was convenient. Hot showers were fine. Most of the campsites are small and...More

The rails are beautiful. The view overlooking the Hudson is spectacular. The campsites are average at best, open and close to your neighbor. Water is only available at random locations throughout the campground. The attendant didn't seem to know that it was possible to fill...More

Come here with my family often. It has tent sites and cabins. They allow dogs and its all on the shore of the mighty Hudson River. Its perfect with many historic landmarks within a short drive. An ideal location to take in the rich history...More

Didn't get to walk the trails but saw a very nice view of this park while on a cruise of the Hudson. Very pretty!

Planned on staying 2 nights as we explored the Hudson River area. Stayed one night...why: Facilities for campers were deplorable. Not clean; very old - say 1930's! Broken glass at my feet at the table at the campsite. Just not acceptable. The grounds are nice...More

The Mills Norrie State Park is a popular attraction among the locals and with good reason: the beautiful landscape, river views, and hiking trails. It is also an excellent area for walking dogs as one can choose either the paved roads or intricate trails in...More

Would you recommend for a cabin stay, 3 nights, for a limited budget family w/older kids from the NYC area looking to get out of the City but not be in the thick of the woods? We're not opposed to really rustic, especially for a short stay, and are aching to get away from concrete, subways and sirens. We want a bit of R & R, hiking, maybe indulge in the kayak tour one afternoon with plenty time to chat around the campfire in the evenings...and this site looks like my city-born-and-raised hubby could get a meal at a restaurant in a nearby town if the peace and quiet is just too much, lol. What do you think? Are the bathrooms ok? Anyone use the showers? Any recommendations on an essential item to pack city folks might not consider? Should we bring vinyl mattress covers to prevent creepy crawlies like lice or bed bugs? We're thinking of staying here for a long weekend in August, any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, I didn't see the cabins, I stayed in the tent area, but I believe the cabins and the tenting areas share a bathhouse. The bathrooms are clean, flush toilets and running water. The shower stalls are small, and the floor... More
