Nothing special about this beach on Memorial Day weekend. Cooper's Beach in Southampton is a big wide beach - nothing special. It faces the Atlantic so the water is rougher. We got a spot in front of one of the "clubs" so no public facilities...More
This is such a beautiful beach, but it is absolutely flooded with people during the summer months. They have a really great shack that makes awesome fish tacos. I would recommended coming back later in the day for a spectacular sunset. Bring a blanket, some...More

We had resolved that before we came out again, that we would call the Town Hall and ask for a day or week's pass, and pay whatever it takes for permission and then not worry about potential fines. We did see signage at an adjoining town beach, that directed visitors to do just that.
I would rather that you not get a ticket and have your vacation ruined, especially if it is in the summer. We were there much later in the season, and took a calculated risk that worked out. There was no charge at that parking lot.... and it was not crowded.
