About
This beach in Southampton is a beautiful 500-foot stretch of sand that's perfect for a relaxing day out. You'll be treated to an amazing view of the historic mansions in the distance, plus whales and dolphins playing in the ocean if you're lucky. Sun chairs and umbrellas are available for rent, and there's a lovely beachside cafe when you need a snack break. Non-residents have to pay a parking fee—which is on the pricier side—but the lot is quite spacious. If you want to make the most of your day, visit early in the morning or during the off-season for fewer crowds. – Tripadvisor

It is a beautiful, clean beach. However, they are not offering $50 day parking passes for nonresidents on the weekends right now. They offer them on weekdays and there is also a sign which says they are only allowing 50% parking lot capacity. Another option is free parking on road D 2 miles down but the street is really small and parking fills up quickly and there are no facilities on that side. Another option which might save you money is parking your car about a mile away at a street parking spot and walking/uber or lyft. Showers are currently out of service too. I would say worth it to avoid crowds are other beaches but not sure it's worth the hassle at the same time.

The beach is huge and really nice. It would be a great place to go and hang out all day. The water looked a little rough. The beach dips down a decent amount which was kind of scary. The tide was going out. I think I was there around 5pm so parking was free. Given how big that beach is probably not a ton of parking for it. You can walk a long ways each way and see nice houses as well. The building was closed so nothing open that late.

We loved Cooper's Beach. It is lovely. The best part was paying $50 for a day of parking! What! I must be crazy. We were visiting from San Francisco, so we are used to absurd prices, so we said what the heck. It was exciting and stupid to pay $50 for one day parking at a public beach. I love the East End. There are other options, and similarly beautiful beaches, with half the price of parking. Enjoy! $6 for a scoop of ice cream, and a cup of water is $1.50 Got to love it. Bless the hearts of the rich people of South Hamptons for letting us regular folk visit.

Had a wonderful afternoon at this beach. In the spring and summer the key is to arrive at 5:30 when visitors can park. Otherwise you need to park down the street and walk for 5-10 minutes which is a little annoying but not terrible. Dropping off part of the gang and then dropping of the car can work as well. The beach is beautiful and stretches to the horizon. There are basic amenities and not much else. So if you are self sustained this is a great place to go for a quite afternoon.

You've got to be kidding! Have you not been to Long Beach Island in New Jersey? An 18 mile long white sand beach, meticulously cleaned every night, with lifeguards every 100 yards. Absolutely gorgeous. The swimming beaches alternate with surfer areas and surf fishing areas. You can watch the regular surfers, the kitesurfers and the fishing people when you're not swimming in the extremely clean water with dozens of sandbars. Little shops and cafes within a few blocks walk from nearly every part of the beach. Ha. Ha. Coopers Beach: two lifeguards, $50 parking for what - four dozen cars? and average sand. Tiny cafe and store. Zero access to most of the beaches because of all the walled off gardens and mansions along the South Shore. Nothing to do and nothing to look at. I guess you guys must own the media machine that says this is the best beach. What criteria are you using when you say this is the best beach??????

While slightly tipsy, I asked a store owner "Ok, tell me where to find the super rich people around here." He said two words, "Cooper's Beach." Admittedly, when one thinks of the Hamptons, you do think of wealth right? I wanted to feel like the rich and fabulous on my vacay. So away we went. Let's first talk about the drive to the beach - crazy massive homes, mansions really with impeccably groomed grounds. After some weaving through the residential area, we found the beach. Yes, parking is expensive. $40/car. So do yourself a favor, either get there early so you get your "40 dollar's worth" or arrive after 5p and park for free! We chose to arrive early. The thing I love about this beach is that the waves are MUCH calmer than further northeast (think Montauk). It's still frigid cold, but at least not having to fight crashing waves made it a bit more tolerable. There's loads of space for people to spread out and pitch their beach umbrellas and blankets. The beach house is nice too. It has showers, and a restaurant with your typical beach snack, but also the fancy goods like lobster rolls and quinoa salads! We spent the entire day - eating/napping/sunbathing/gossiping/listening to music and it was my most memorable experience in the Hamptons. GO!

I am not sure if Dr.Beach is right this time. It is a good and clean beach. The parking is $40/day. There is bathroom, open air shower, and food joint, so it is convenient. The wave can be too big for little kids. The water is cold but clean (in August). The sand is nice and soft but not as soft as Newport Beach in CA. I am no scientist, so I didn't check the quality of the water in the lab.

I enjoyed the crowd though, better looking crowd than other East Coast beaches. I like to quiet and more secluded beach like this.

This beach seems to be on a lot of lists for bests beaches. Not sure why? It's just a beach; soft beige sand, ocean water, waves, lots of people, the usual. It's nice but no wow. What it is is one of the few public beaches in an area that's mostly private. There are some facilities here like a snack bar and restrooms. Parking is $40 but hay, it's the Hamptons.

There's lots of beach here so walk down, aways from the entrance, and you can find a less crowded space to sunbath.

Also, if you go early, drive a little farther down Meadow Lane where there's a small, free parking area (do not try parking in the resident only places/spaces along the way though!) If you're lucky you'll get a space. If not, you got to view some of the most magnificent houses on the planet in a dream location. Enjoy!

Would not recommend staying here! I am here since 4 days now and neither my cooker nor the living room heating is working. I have been to the reception 5 times to ask for these problems to be looked at but nothing happens. No one seems to be bothered once you are here and have paid. For me it’s definitely the first and last time I stayed here.

We always come here even though it's $40 bucks to park the car. I guess it's not terrible considering Long Beach charges $12 per person and we frequent there as well.
Great confession/picnic table/bathroom/shower area
Beach is always clean as can be
BUT I read about a little secret.... Get there before they set up the booth and park for free! ;)
