Thought I would visit an iconic GC
Sep 2018 • Friends
Excited to visit the venue. Parked walked up an immediately the gestapo genius starter approached us with a “may I help you” I said just wanted to sneak a peak and maybe buy a shirt. He says, “this is a private course you can look at it from the road “. I said thank you I will. What a blank head !! I’ve been to Pebble, St. Andrews, Oakhill all of the great ones and have always been greeted warmly. Have a happy life Shinnecock and charming starter.

PGA 2018

We attended the practice round of the PGA 2018 @ Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, NY. Suffice to say this was a first class experience from beginning to end. The history, and course layout is beyond any golfers imagination.
The PGA along with the folks at Shinnecock Hills did an amazing job for all fans to enjoy. I would love to play this course, but as a private course it is nearly impossible.

Shinnacock lobster factory
Jun 2018 • Business
Iparked here during the us open and ED THE OWNER decide to shuttle people back and forth to the back entrance of the Us Open entrance.

This place had it all from breakfast to lunch to dinner. I got there early one morning and was going run down to a fast food chain and glad I didnt for about the amount in my I was fixed the huge sandwich and the went off to let ed take to the gate.
HIS specialty is the lobster factory rolls and there was always people in line to order these..

It's to bad that trip advisor want give me anything for 50 reviews of ny,nj,and the Hamptons. Oh well.

The reason why I was given this review was ED WAS GRACIOUS ENOUGH TO LET ME PARK THERE ALL WEEK SO I WOULD HAVE TO SIT ON THE BUS FOR 1HR AND HALF IN TRAFFIC.

Amazing course

I worked at the US Open here. The golf course is lovely and plays like a true Links course - windy with brutal rough. A real test of golf.

Stayed nearby at the Preston House and Hotel. This place was amazing. Beautifully laid out, exceptionally well maintained and well worth the expense. A trip I will gladly make again and spend more time

Great opportunity to see an amazing course!
Jun 2018 • Couples
Visited Shinnecock Hills to view the US Open. While not being able to play the course, it was very impressive to walk it and watch the pros. Certainly felt the challenge as they worked their way out of the rough and watched balls roll off the green. It would be interesting to come back to see what it plays like when not set up for the pros. Beautiful!

WHAT MORE IS THERE TO SAY???????

This is Shinnecock; one of the meccas of golf. This course will kick your butt, and you'll love it the entire time. Cannot wait to return. Very walkable and the caddies know the course, and will tell you to putt the ball where you believe they're wrong - and they're not. If you have an opportunity, take it.

Hidden neighborhood
We inherited a small home on .6 of an acre directly behind (north) of the golf course. Being built up as there is a resurgence in this small development and thanks to the zoning, it is existing homes only being improved or in many cases replaced by more modern, larger homes. Must use a car to get anywhere necessary, but small price tipsy for the out of the fray peace & quiet.

NICE PLACE TO LIVE!
May 2012 • Couples
It is quiet, well-located, with not much happening, so it is a great place to live.
