Nice park with benches to relax on.
Oct 2021
Nice park. There are some benches. There is a pier going out to the lighthouse. I use a scooter but was unable to go out there because of a few steps and it’s posted there is uneven pavement as well. You can fish off the pier. There are restrooms but closed after Labor Day perhaps? I did notice a Port A Potty tho. This lighthouse is closed but if you go into town they have the old one that’s a museum. We were able to catch it today before closing for the season.

Came for the Lighthouse
Jan 2021
Most people don't think of the beach during the heart of Winter BUT us with a Winter Anniversary get to see things during off seasons. the Lighthouse was hard to see from the Free parking area with the winter squall ~ we braved it and walked the whole breaker that the lighthouse was on.

Nice area for all ages

Nice park with good sand and playground equipment for the kids.We were there at sunset which is a pleasant time to visit. I imagine one could spend a large part of a day here and find it most enjoyable.

Gem of A Place
Sep 2019 • Couples
Great little place to visit. Chances are you may have the place all to yourself if you visit in September. Quiet solitude and peaceful place to sit for a while and listen to the waves or read a book. Very scenic.

Great Little Beach
Jul 2019 • Family
This is one of the nicest little beaches in Upstate NY. What other beach has sand, playground, shelter house, bathrooms, snack shop, life guards, Coast Guard and Sherrif's office within a 100 yd radius? The beach is clean and safe. What more could you ask for?

Great time up on the lake
Sep 2019
This is a beautiful park, with plenty of room for everyone to walk, swim, BBQ, or whatever. Save time for a stroll out along the pier to the lighthouse. (And if you have time, visit the "other lighthouse"...the one up the hill with the museum. This is a great place to spend a summer afternoon with the family.

Nice Public Beach
Aug 2019
This is a nice public beach with scenic views of Lake Ontario that is free to enter and costs nothing to park at. There are bathrooms, an outdoor shower, pavillion, playground, and benches under trees. There were no life guards on duty when we went.

There is also a fishing pier.

Looked a bit rough at the end of the day
Aug 2019
We walked out to the lighthouse and took a brief walk down the beach. The sand was heavily littered with cigarette butts. The bathroom was locked. We didn't stay long.

Gorgeous Sandy beach well maintained by town/village
Jul 2018 • Family
This is a beautiful long beach with public restrooms, outdoor shower, first aid, large playground, covered gazebo with at least 10 picnic tables, trash receptacles and parking nearby. A short distance from the beach is a long pier that can be fished off of.

All summer long families bring their picnic gear, towels, water toys and enjoy a beautiful day on the beach. Public parking allows you to be close by and the lot is well paved with a concrete sidewalk to the beach area.

Lake Ontario can be a strong lake with waves. Keeping an eye on young children is a must. The water is safe to go into.

Great day at the park
Sep 2018 • Family
This is a wonderful park with a white sand beach that lines the lake along the Sodus Point shoreline of Lake Ontario. There is lots to do around there, but the best is just kicking back and enjoying the sunshine with the water and the beach. Great place for getting a tan and watching the world go by!
