Holidaying in the Cantal region of Auvergne and as soon as I read about the Snail farm, I thought ‘YES, we have to go’. First off, I should say that it would be best if someone in your group is able to speak the French language since the explanations were in French. I think the lady may speak a little English, but I was able to understand her French and translated for my husband. For us it was an excellent visit, super interesting and full of details about the raising of snails. We learnt so much and were so glad that we went. The visit lasted about an hour and a half and we opted to taste some of their products at the end. We were able to choose which product we wanted to taste. I chose a mixture, but my husband chose all the same (with parsley garlic and butter) and we were offered a glass of wine to accompany them.

Everything is there to have a good time. A very friendly and informative welcome about snails but also about local products. The cuisine is succulent with snail recipes in all sauces, local meat that melts in your mouth and cooked perfectly, finally an experience that is worth the detour.

The little shop and snail breeding ground are interesting to visit and its possible to have a tasting; as well as buy loads of snails. However i wouldn't go too much out of my way to visit as its a bit limited as a tourist attraction.
