We went to the proctor's theatre to see the show "Once on This Island" starring Tamyra Gray.
The theatre is a grand place with a beautiful marquee and street front appearance.
This was our first time going to this theatre and we really enjoyed it. It is beautiful and very grand. A great space to see a show.
They have a nice entranceway concession area seating and stage.
There is a parking garage around the corner which was free of charge when we were there.

Almost every seat is great at Proctor's Theater! The many attendants make the experience wonderful, and provide help and direction as needed. Parking is usually not a problem and buses are welcomed. There are snacks available for purchase as well as roomy bathroom facilities. As for the show, you will think you are at a Broadway-like performance. Acoustics are great! This is fun venue.

Was in the states on a business trip staying close by. We decided to go see Les Mis. The theatre has a great atmosphere, very old fashioned from the architecture to the confectionery with a classy vintage style to it. The show was excellent, amazing sets and the lighting and props were very impressive. The sound in the theatre carried very well, we were seated on the balcony to the right as we bought tickets late, but we could still see relatively well and hear everything.
A slight blind spot from far back on the right of the stage but it's to be expected. I'd definitely buy more central seats and closer next time. Also the seats can be very uncomfortable if you are sitting for long periods of time, they're very close together and not much cushioning, plus they don't really have any flexibility so you end up shifting around your own body a lot to stop from cramping. That was the only real annoying thing.
Overall this is a great spot and if you're thinking of going to a show here you should definitely check it out, you won't be disappointed. I'd give it full marks if the seats were more comfortable.

All events were canceled back in mid march so called to have a refund to credit card which they have on file and was assured it would be.It has been over a month and three phone calls and told my name was on the list for refunds. Now I have had to cancel trip and flights for march and the refund was there in a week or less.It seems they are just incompetent or happy to hold onto my money and many others as long as they can.Areal sham operation.

We have been to quite a few shows at proctors and we always have a good experience. The only tricky thing is finding a good parking spot, oftentimes you have to pay extra to park. The last show we were at was pretty empty and the staff let us move into better seats closer to the front.

We had the chance to see “the King and I” and totally loved it. Wonderful costumes, stage sets, orchestra and cast. Loved the voices as well as the story. Packed theater but helpful volunteers/ushers.

I recently saw the sound of music which was excellent. My constant problem with Proctors is they charge the same amount or more as a show I would see in NYC and Schenectady is not NYC. They have the most uncomfortable seating and no matter where you sit if you are short you won't be able to see. The rise in the floor is not enough of an elevation for good viewing. I would rather go to CapitalRep anyday.

Beautiful venue and a memorable, fantastic performance. One can see the entire performance from any seat in the theater. However, for Wicked which is very long, the seats became very uncomfortable. In fact, you cant cross your legs and I'm 5'4" tall. No leg room and very tight. That being said, it is an experience not to miss and a piece of history to enjoy.

I've been to several plays at Proctors and found the actors are excellent. Getting in and out is pretty easy as long as you know your way around. Parking garage on side street. My biggest issue is the seating is the worse I've ever experienced seeing a play or show. I've seen them in all kinds of places including New York City. The chairs are very close together and there isn't enough rise in the rows to offset people sitting in front of you blocking your view. I probably won't go there again until they fix the seats or I get a front row seat.

This is not a huge theater, therefore it's almost impossible to have a BAD seat.

Any seats at Proctors are good. Being that close should be a great experience.

Hi. I would like to know what would be a decent a section in The Proctor's Theater to see the Lion king. I am looking for seats that are reasonably priced and where one can have a good viewing experience. Ideally, the section/seat should have nothing obstructing the view. The person that I am taking has some vision problems, so your help would be must appreciated.
Thanks

I don't know. When attending a performing arts program I tend to favor the balcony for visual and acoustical reasons. I'd like to hear about the experiences of others who had orchestra seats during a musical production.
