My wife and I had a good time riding the zip lines. This was our first time doing anything like this. Definitely a great place to go for first-timers.

All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous, observant and proficient from the front desk to the fitting of gear, to the training, and then monitoring the zip lines.

My wife did have a couple of snags on her first time through the course adjusting to see the key and lock mechanisms and the landing platforms due to problems with her eyesight, and she was a little confused about the locking/unlocking steps, but she flew through the course on the second pass.

We will definitely consider going here again, and encouraging others to go as well.

Went to Mountain Ridge with my 8 year old, 12yr ol, 16yr ol, and 18yr old and my boyfriend. I had no intentions on doing any of the activities until they mentioned that someone had to be with my 8 year old. Well let's just say I was absolutely terrified from the moment I started climbing the ladder filled with a world of regrets but luckily for me with Kelly our guide by our side and at one point even the owner Mike joining me up top and getting me through my fear and anxieties I was able to do do both courses and conquer my fear with all my family cheering for me. The best part was watching my 8 year old fearlessly navigate through the treetops and ziplines. When we reached the leap of faith my 18 yr old and 8 year old were the only 2 brave enough to risk it all and do a 40ft free fall! I had plenty of proud mom moments for myself and my kids with so much support from the staff there making you feel safe and secure and fearless! Apparently my 8 year old says when he turns 10 we have to go back because he wants to do the remainder of the obstacles and ziplines like his big brothers. Mountain Ridge is definitely a family friendly must!

Being brave is way easier with the right support. We are so proud of you and our staff for making these amazing memories possible. Thank you so much for sharing the day with Mountain Ridge Adventure. NOTE FROM THE OWNER: As one of the only family run, non big corporate Adventure Zipline Parks in the NY, we are encouraging our guests to keep helping to support local in the difficult times. Please actively recommend us to your family, friends and colleagues. It would’ve greatly appreciated

We had a family of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids ages 6-9). We all did the kids Passes since the kids needed assistance. The locking and unlocking of the safety buckle took a bit to get used to but we managed. We did the 2 starter courses which was fun. The courses were very creative (toilet seats, tables, chairs, tires) and the zip line was fun. The last zip line when we ended the course was super short. I would have liked to end with a longer zip line. All in all, we had a great time!

Just had to write a review to say how awesome this place was! The park is in a great spot and was challenging, in a good way :) Our guides were helpful and very friendly. Everyone was so nice and relaxed, even though our group of 8 was behind/running late at the end of the course. Gloves are mandatory and when you do the course, you will understand why. If you don't have gloves, you can buy a pair there for 2 dollars. There are no bathrooms, but there is a port-a-potty on site. Great instruction from start to finish! Of note, we signed up for the 10:00 a.m. group and we were glad we did as it got much busier as we were finishing up. I would definitely return! Side note, Shaker and Vine in Schenectady was ~ 15-20 min. away if you want a drink and apps afterwards :)

Hey, thanks for the great review. We love the word AWESOME! We also love sharing our beautiful Park with great guests. Hopefully we’ll see you again soon. If you’re into Halloween fun then definitely check out our ZOMBIE Zips experience. It’s like nothing you’ll ever come across in your life … but beware it’s age 14+ so be prepared for real horror. Also, thanks for the shoutout to our friends at shaker and vine but should add an asterisk for those looking to grab a drink after their adventure. S & V is one of the hottest, upscale establishments in the Capital Region, we love it there, but you most probably would want to change out of your sweaty adventure attire before going. Cheers, Michael & Olivia

I took the day off and decided to bring the kids to MRA—my first time and the kid's third (birthday parties). I was impressed with how seamless the steps were to get us all on the courses. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and encouraged the kids to move out of their comfort zones. I always felt we were safe and well supervised... impressive as I overheard that they were very busy that day. We will definitely be back..

Hello Chris The biggest complaint at most Adventure Parks is usually the courses get backed up. We specifically designed our Park to mitigate as much traffic issues on the course as possible. Combine a well thought out design, the best guides in the business, the most fun, unique obstacles and fastest zips around and we have a recipe for smiles and great reviews. Thank you and hope to see you again soon

This company needs some work:
1. More staff would be very beneficial as it could help provide direction on the course AND can reduce the number of unattended people
2. Placing guides at each line to catch people would perhaps stop the number of people from falling back out on the cable (I have burn marks on my hands from falling back onto the line 1 time)
3. Incorporating stoppers so people can slow down as they are coming into a zip station
4. An even the amount of attention at zip liners. Staff seemed more interested in helping and paying attention to obstacles.

They provided a 10-minute lesson on how to zip line and expected people to go on the course unattended. I've been zip lining in various other countries and not only did they give us a lesson but they were with us every step of the way...didn't leave us to fend for ourselves.

This is Michael, the guide that helped you on the zip lines. I wanted to personally reply and say I’m sorry you did not have a stellar experience like most of our guests. Our park is unique that it is a self-guided zip line experience, where you do not rely on a guide to move our specialized equipment for you. Our zips are specially designed to slow down at the end for a simple landing. In two hours, participants can enjoy 10-20 zips or more, whereas only 5-6 zips at a traditional canopy tour. You may not have noticed our many guides watching you at every step of the way, but we are always close by to help. When you slid backwards, I helped you back to the platform in under a minute, and personally guided you the rest of the course. I’m sorry you were unhappy at the end of your experience for not receiving a refund, since we did spend a good amount of time assisting you. We do hope you’ll try us out again, and you can always “Rent-a-Guide” if you desire a more traditional hands-on experience.

During a time when activities are limited, my wife and I decided to give MRA a try. A little nervous when booking as we weren't sure exactly what we were getting into. How hard would it be? How high would we be? While not old, we are closer to old than young. :-). First we lucked out with a beautiful day, couldn't be nicer then spending time outdoors, in the woods after so much time in various states of quarantine. When arriving, the staff was friendly and glad we were joining them. Lots of gear to put on but staff lead us through the process. We soon realized the gear is important as it makes you feel very safe as you o through the courses and zip lines. First step was getting instructions on how the safety system worked. Guides were informative and better yet it was hands on. Seemed like a lot of information but prepared us well and the guides were always available if you had questions while on the courses. We did a three hour pass including going through several courses and ending with zipline rides. It was great exercise, challenging but we could handle it and the zip lines were a lot of fun. Definitely a good choice to experience MRA and would highly recommend it for kids and adults. If my kids were younger, would make this a family excursion. Thanks MRA for a great time!

We had an excellent experience. We did the Starter Pass which was great for our kids ages 7 and 9. Certain sections were difficult for them, but our guide, Nick, was great. He was very encouraging and helped our kids through the tough spots. We would highly recommend Mountain Ridge Adventure especially for a family full of beginners.

Took young campers and staff and all enjoyed. Excellent staff who encouraged and assisted. Great instruction gave younger children a sense of independence. Courses are fun yet challenging for all ages.

I took my 2 adult children and my 12 year old son to the treetop challenge. 1/2 way through the course my son would not go any further. We were encouraged to get down with my son and do the zipline course which we did. After the zipline I asked if I could resume the treetop challenge, (just me and not my adult children or son). I was told No as I only had 20 minutes left and it would take me 30 minutes to do the treetop challenge. I did not argue we just left. I spent over 250 dollars and I could not be given 10 minutes.

We are never happy to read that a guest left disappointed. We pride ourselves on having the best reputation and highest rated reviews in all of NY. Unfortunately, if we make exceptions for guests who have gone over their time limit, it can negatively affect other groups, creating a domino effect of potential disappointment.
