This is our household's "go-to" source for amazing meats. We have been frequenting this family-owned and run establishment for over 15 years and the consistency and quality have never changed. My favorite is the skirt steak.....but my family also enjoys a mixed sausage/brat night. Also.....don't miss picking up a fresh Campanelli roasting chicken. YUM!!

We visited here on Valentines Day on our way to Germantown for a weekend getaway. Wanted to pickup some foods to cook over the weekend. Got steak, chicken, bacon and burgers and all were absolutely fantastic.

Friendly service and fantastic food! Loved the venison salami and smoked cheese (we bought several).

I had gone last year & got really great sausages and sauerbraten. Was looking forward to going this year, too. But I got a little (ok, a lot) lost on my way there & desperately needed to use the restroom by the time I arrived. Not only was I refused the use of a restroom, the women behind the counter wouldn't even tell me where there might be a public restroom nearby. Luckily, one of their customers was a local who did direct me to a McDonald's down the road. Thank you, nice lady, if you are reading.
The behavior of the employees was rude and cruel as well as unsanitary. I might have wanted to wash my hands before handling my food packages.
There are plenty of other smokehouses with decent human beings behind the counter. I will patronize them from now on.

Walking into this place is almost overwhelming- the wide variety of German meat specialties, fresh German breads, treats and gifts is a treat to the eyes and nose. I believe they make nearly all of the meat products the sell right there in-house, the way it used to be done until the big-box stores drove the small meat markets and butchers out of business. Whether you are a fan of hard to find German style meats or just looking for some fresh Brats for a cookout, check this place out. Sadly there's nothing like this anywhere near where we live...

Family owned business where everyone knows your name and order. Everything top shelf with a large array of German delicacies. Bakery rolls and breads and great German pretzels. Good array of cheeses. And meats smoked on premises. Don’t miss the brisket burgers.

Always stop when in the Saugerties area, great assortment of smoked meats including venison. Nice smoke, not too Smokey. I would recommend stopping and getting an assortment to try, don’t forget to grab a couple of the fresh baked German pretzels too.

This shop has been an area favorite for many years and retained its popularity even after changing hands several years ago. Smokehouse is a classic, first-class German butcher shop and their meat is always outstanding. They will, of course, do custom orders, and offer a wide variety of specialty sausages in addition to many kinds of cheeses, pates and condiments such as fancy mustards, pickles, relishes and syrups. They offer baked goods and a small dairy section as well. It’s a very quaint shop, with charming decorations, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Worth a side trip if you’re in the area!

We stumbled on this gem after taking a wrong turn trying to get to the lighthouse. In all my travels through the United States, this is probably the best German store I have ever been to. Their meat and sausage selection is unbeatable, and they have a wide variety of other German and Belgian products for sale, including every variety you could want of Ritter Sport chocolate bars, Belgian waffles, pretzel breads, and canned goods. We stocked up on central European goodies from here, and everything was outstanding. If you are driving by or through, I strongly recommend stopping and getting something from here.

Smokehouse of the Catskills has always been one of my parents' favorites for years... We went to Saugerties over July 4th weekend and it was a must. : ) <3
We took ticket #101 at 1pm in the afternoon and you can easily understand why. The selection of meat is varied, and the quality excellent. Their German franks were honestly the best I ever had. The store is immaculate and the service excellent. Their prices are beyond reasonable! We got plenty of goodies for our weekend camping at Rip Van Winkle and had a ball. Thank you!
