We walked a snow-covered trail, over little bridges and through woodlands, in temperatures in the teens, to get to the lighthouse. We weren’t alone, and everyone we passed greeted us with hello or Happy New Year. The river was frozen around the lighthouse, but it...More

The Saugerties Lighthouse is positioned at the edge of the Hudson River and just about as near as you can get without stepping in. Park the car and walk through the woods to the Lighthouse. There are places to stop and have a picnic including...More

Nice little walk to the lighthouse and saw many chipmunks on the way. Enjoyed the walk and the lighthouse, very pretty.

The gentle stroll through the path lined with cattails winds up at this lighthouse. Such a gem right on the Hudson

Delightful .5 mi nature walk, picnic tables (go to Lighthouse website for Tide Table.) Lovely views. Feels as if you're in the middle of the Hudson River.

The walk was easy. We did not make a reservation to be able to go inside though. Spoke to a woman there about the history of the light house and reconstruction. Nice views of the Hudson. Worth the time!

Easy 10 minute walk to the lighthouse. There's picnic tables behind the lighthouse were you can relax and look at the water. A worthwhile trip less than ten minutes from town.

Gorgeous, stunning site, majestic in its own way. I truly enjoyed bike riding to this historic lighthouse.

No cost but must be arranged in advance as it is a B&B in high demand. However you can park your car and walk out to the lighthouse on the trail through the estuary. You can enjoy the view and even swim in the shallows... More

Parking about a half mile away from waterfront. Path to water is clearly marked and is marsh-like. You'll want to stay on the path. Wouldn't recommend for small children or if easy access is important.
