Came for an extended weekend for camping, mining & celebrating a friends upcoming Birthday. Two of us shared a cabin which was very clean, not complaints there! Others in our party had a travel trailer & their site was very nice with plenty of room!...More
I stay here with my kids during the summer for overnight or weekends and we dig for Herkimer Diamonds. It's very convenient to have the cabins on site, bathrooms, showers, store and mine are very close by.
It's very family-friendly if you want to stay...More
I used to come here all the time in the 70's. At that time, you could find many crystals without having to use any tools but your hands. There were so many crystals attached to rocks that I could be choosy and I only took...More
We visited Crystal Grove Diamond Mine over the front end of Memorial Day weekend. We camped at their campground which was quiet and very relaxing amongst the trees and next to a creek.
We were fortunate enough to have several interactions with Billie Jo, Joel,...More
My family has mined at CGDM&C a few times over the last year. The management is super helpful, the sites are great and we enjoyed the nights we spent in the cabins as well!! I highly recommend this place!!! We can't wait to go back.

We initially dismissed this campground based on past reviews, but based on a relatives recommendation that it was under new ownership, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The couple managing the mine and campsite, Joel and Billie Jo are amazing....More
This was the BEST trip ever! My friend and I stayed for 4 nights and the owners could not have been any more friendly! They went out of their way to make sure our trip was as much fun as it could be! We mined...More
The campground was quiet, small yet suitable. The digging for Herkimer diamonds was a blast! One of us hammered rocks apart, the other perused the ground - both ways we found small crystals for just a few hours of "work". The owners are super friendly...More

Hey there! Hi there. Just wanted to respond, and let you know that as of February, 2017 - Crystal Grove Diamond Mine & Campground is now under NEW Ownership & Management! We are currently working on providing the entire campground with WiFi, unfortunately there is no cell service here, I live on-site and have yet to find a cell phone carrier that has service here.

We didn't stay in the cabins. We just spent the day there. I would recommend bringing your own hammers and wedges. We saw a couple with a sledgehammer so I'm not sure what is off limits to bring besides industrial equipment. There are no places near by walking distance to eat. You would need to drive. There are some places to get a bite. There is one area you can get kind of close with your car. It's near the best area as well for mining. They do have heated water in the restrooms so I'm sure the showers are not cold.
