I've been going to Playland ever since I can remember. My first memories are of when my parents brought me back in the late 70's. I now take my own children and they love it just as much as I do. There are 7 original rides that pre-date 1930 including the famous wooden Dragon Coaster, the Whip, Ye Olde Mill,... More

Growing up within an hours drive of Playland affords you the ability to go to a really cool amusement park as often as you'd like. The downside of living that close is that you end up taking this convenience for granted. After not going to the park for years I started to take my now 9 yr old and she... More

My mom, 87yrs, has been taking me on what I will call her "Bucket List" tour. We haven't been there since I was maybe 12-14 yrs old, sooo 45yrs ago (ouch!). I was impressed! They have maintained the park beautifully, and some of the rides I remember were still there, especially the Horses..not the carousel mind you...plenty of staff keeping... More

I took my grand nephew to rye playland last week and had a wonderful day. They have a nice kiddie area as well a rides for teens and adults. I enjoy it because it doesn't get over crowded and you can get on the rides rather quickly. It also is very easy to get to from Manhattan. Just jump on... More

I come every summer since I was in elementary school. Although, it is old and outdated it is still super fun. There is something for everyone in your party to do. Even if you don't do the attractions, the atmosphere is fun. It won't disappoint you!

What drew me to Rye Playland was it's location, a nearby amusement park and beach from NYC. What I left with was a desire to learn more about the history of this relic and pride that the community invested in Landmarking this important piece of our history. We, myself, a mom friend and our two 4 year olds, made our... More

We had a spectacular time at Rye Playland my two girls 6 years and 8 years old both had rides that they could go on together. I love the park. In alto of parks the little ones can't go on anything but the kiddie rides. We liked the kiddie rides because they haf rides that I went on when I... More

I brought my daughter with a disability and my granddaughter with Alzheimer and we had such a good time. The shows and entertainment in the kids section was a relaxing relief from the rides. I appreciate the fact that as an elderly person I can sit and rest without walking a long way and no where to sit. The food... More

After at least a decade of living to far from this park we went down to visit with family and friends and all went to Playland. I LOVE Rye Playland. The park has aged but the rides and food are still great. I was surprised the park was not packed but that just made it easier to get on the... More

Playland is always a good time for young kids. The line for the rides get shorter the later it gets. Some rides parents are able to go on with their kids providing you purchased the admission band or tickets. Stay away from the new gallery of horrors which they charge 3 dollars to get into. It was not worth the... More
