A peaceful trip down history, the Mabee Farm is an historic farm that sits on rolling hills overlooking the Mohawk River. Absolutely beautiful! The "Howlin' at the Moon" concert series, monthly, is the perfect way to spend an evening in the old Dutch Barn or outside with friends-enjoying Everest Rising and other singer/song writers. So much to offer, everyone!

May have just been dumb luck, but great tour. Clearly willing to adapt the visit to accommodate different interests, attention spans, etc. Beautiful barn to boot.

Truthfully, a step back in time. The old farmhouse is a terrific interpretive center. The Dutch Barn has such character. And, the Franchere Center is worthy of exhibits, music venue and more. A definite place to explore and learn about our past!

The Mabee Farm is a wonderful place to visit for children and adults. They have been really improving the site over the last several years so if you haven't been in a while there is likely something new. The tour is informative and they also have special events and programming available. Highly recommended!

My husband and I attended the Water Music NY event at Mabee Farm. The property is lovely, overlooking the Mohawk River. Well kept historic buildings, nice size outdoor pavilion, clean restrooms and a large barn that looked perfect for events. The staff was warm, welcoming and very knowledgable. With a couple of farm animals, plenty of grassy picnicking space and a trail down to the water, I can imagine the farm would be a great destination for a school field trip or a stop on a day trip to the area!

On a return trip form the Adirondacks we stopped at the Schenectady County Historical Society and toured the museum and Stockade district. They suggested we visit their farm site outside the city.

Lovely! The farm and animals set in a bucolic setting on the Mohawk River. Kids loved the tour... the staff was very patient with the children and their endless farm animal questions!

Of course a family wedding is a great event no matter where it is held, but the barn at Mabee Farm made the event unique in its rustic elegance! Guests enjoyed the barn and the grounds. Catered food was excellent. Wonderful and memorable!

I heard some nice things about this historical site, but it has been three days since emailing them for information of an event and no word. Either this is another of the current administrations to do away with American historical sites and hiring people who will not help keep it active, or perhaps it already hires people who just don't care. Even the phones are not manned, at least when I tried.

We live just 45 minutes away but had not visited this site previously. We were enticed to make the trip by a special speaker that day and decided to go early to see the place. There is a very interesting exhibit there right now on food and culture that we enjoyed and learned from. Because of the lack of snow, it was easy to walk around the grounds and see the oldest standing house in the region along with various other buildings. The staff member was very knowledgeable and helpful. The Schenectady County Historical Society, which owns and operates this site, also has an extensive series of talks and workshops. We will return when tours of the historic buildings are available!
