One of my friends and I always try to catch whatever exhibit the museum has, and have really seen some excellent ones. I was going to say the most recent 2, but when I think back, there are just so many. There are times when we go not expecting much, and that is where the last 2 come in, and... More

We enjoy coming here occasionally. The docents are knowledgable and the exhibits change regularly. The sculpture garden and the grounds are nice to walk around during the warm weather

Another visit to the Nassau County Museum of Art did not disappoint. Modern art graced the walls of the mansion. Nice to see greats like Leger, Picasso, Renoir, Matisse right in our own backyard. This gem of a museum is not large, but carefully curated exhibits are worth a visit. Also don't miss the beautifully landscaped grounds, or the outdoor... More

The art is usually very well curated and the museum itself is small enough to do in a comfortable hour or so. The outdoor sculpture gardens are gorgeous as are the grounds.

I spend a fall afternoon walking the property at the Nassau County Museum of Art. I visit the museum every time I'm on the North Shore of Long Island regardless of the weather. The art and the nature give me a sense of peace. My favorite sculpture is of "Wood Duck" which is a wood circle in the middle of... More

The museum has rotating exhibits. Check what will be there when you arrive. We loved the recent Chinese exhibit. In addition, the exhibit of modern works donated by the Saltzmann family was spectacular.

We spent two hours from 9 to 11 AM walking the extensive open fields and wooded trails viewing the many sculptures before the museum opened at 11. The exhibition of The Moderns from a private collection offers a unique opportunity to see these works by Degas, Renoir, Picasso, Miro, Dali and many more. We also enjoyed the collection of Bolshevik... More

If you have never been, it is a wonderful experience just even driving in. There is a large parking lot with a bit of a walk, but handicapped folks can go right to the front of the mansion. It is a cut way way above what you would expect to find in the burbs. There are about 4 different shows... More

This is a gem of a museum on the north shore. The grounds are kept so beautifully and the museum has a nice rotating collection of artwork. So glad they have a place like this on Long Island!

Formerly a Henry Frick Estate (same owner as Frick Museum in NYC), in Roslyn, NY. Great example of the Gold Coast Era Estate across from the old Helena Rubenstein Cosmetics Building. The Museum has a fabulous art collection and features a wide variety of Exhibitions during the year. You will find something for everyone to appreciate at one time or... More
