We did not feel welcomed from the minute we walked in. I had a service dog which the person didn't like, even after showing proper documentation. So then she found another reason to get us out, asking a 40yr old for ID, the ONLY winery to card.

25 years ago when I started vacationing in the Finger Lakes, Swedish Hill was the first winery I hit. Been going back every year since. Because each winery has it's own unique wines and I stopped at so many in the area over the years I have found they have what I enjoy best. When you rate a winery, you can't rate it on whether or not you like the wines, you have to rate it on the experience. I've been to others and loved the experience, but wines didn't meet my taste. With COVID this year the experience was much different, but it was a nice touch to have a flight at a table outside. You still had the opportunity to talk with staff about the wines when you went in for purchase. We'll be back next year…

Loved the wine flight! They also have cider, so that’s a plus if you’re not into wine. It’s close to many other wineries on the Cayuga lake. I bought some of their bubbles and will go back!

The Swedish Hill Store in Lake Placid has been closed, and according to them, will not reopen. Sad day for all those who like their wines

We were sad that after 20 years, the COVID situation caused us to have to close the Lake Placid location. Our Goose Watch sister Winery is still open on Main Street in Lake Placid and we are now offering several Swedish Hill wines there. And we are still operating from our main winery location in the Finger Lakes, or you can order our wines online. We hope to see you again at one of these locations.

This winery was not one of our favorites - they had lots of different wines but just didn't hit our tastebuds right. The Marechal Foch and Cab. Franc were ok. There is a nice pond out back.

Thank you for visiting Swedish Hill. We are sorry that you did not find the wines that you tasting to your liking. Both of the dry red wines that you mentioned have won gold medals in international wine competitions for the current vintage. We offer a wide selection of a lot of different wines, so we hope that you will visit us again and try some of the others.
