The trail includes a variety of sites - including sites relating to individuals that are significant to Rochester. We went to the portion that was focused on Susan B Anthony - her house and park. You can go online to get a full list of all sites on the trail.

We Really Enjoy This Trail!

My wife and I love this trail for bike riding! It's a peaceful, scenic ride, with places to stop, enjoy a snack, and enjoy a great day. Everyone using the trail seems to "share the road" nicely and it never seems to get too crowded to enjoy. the old railroad tracks are a great trail companion along the way. Stopping at the ice cream place at the trailhead in Goshen is always a great way to end the day's ride. Love this place.....highly recommend it!!

Blissful pedaling or walking/running alongside the railway

Unlike some rail-trails that are paved and have eradicated most evidence of their former purpose, this rail-trail still has all of its railbed paralleling its fine crushed stone surface. So you never forget its origins and history, There are lots of historic markers, towns, and even some unexpected artwork along the way. Go for mothers day weekend and also enjoy fragrant wildflowers plus York's Market Street festival just 1 block from the northern terminus. Bring a Swiffer and/or lube because your bike will get dusty...much better than the mudbath that is the norm of the C&O canal path. Hard to believe this is a county facility, especially one that's trying to regain its footing after decades of shrinking manufacturing-based economy. Web site has excellent. accurate directions to all the trail heads https://yorkcountypa.gov/parks-recreation/the-parks/heritage-rail-trail-park.html I suggest breaking it into 2 days/2 sections, with Seven Valleys as your mid point. This is an easy day trip from Baltimore and Harrisburg and a longer one from DC or Philly.
