About
Casa Larga Vineyards – We are now celebrating 45 years of producing award winning Finger Lakes wines. In 1974, Mr. C planted the first two acres in Fairport, NY, naming it Casa Larga after his grandparents' vineyards in Italy. The first harvest came in 1978 and won three awards at the NYS Wine Competition. Estate White (currently Pallido) and Estate Red (currently Tramonto) were those first wines. Mr. C's dream came true and passion, patience and tenderness were his gifts to the vines and the wines they produced. Mr. C's hobby matured into a larger business, and Casa Larga became the 21st licensed winery in New York State. Casa Larga has now entered the golden era of New York State winemaking, becoming an icon, as well as a sparkling jewel of the Finger Lakes and Rochester regions. We are home to the New York State Ice Wine Festival every February and the Purple Foot Grape Stomping Festival every September. Experience the Italian Way of Living, with wine, food and family.

Fantastic Mother's Day wine & desert!
May 2021 • Friends
We booked ahead for a wine and desert tasting on Mother's Day. We checked in and were handed glasses of champagne immediately! The greeter David showed us to our table with a beautiful display of desserts and colorful wines. He was extremely pleasant and made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions. The deserts were amazing and the wines there have always been some of my favs. My mother and I had a wonderful time!

Food Truck and Wine Slush!!!
Aug 2020 • Couples
My wife and I had an early anniversary celebration (CHILDLESS) @ Casa Larga where we were married 8 years ago and tried the new food truck. The food was amazing! It was gourmet sandwiches and we chose the sweet potato hash for a side. Add in the wine slushy and it made the perfect late lunch meal.

Most definitely looking forward to going back and trying out other menu items soon.

LOTS of Tastes
Sep 2019
Casa Larga was our first stop on our second wine tour day. It's in the middle of Rochester, so very convenient. Our tasting was supposed to come with 5 pours, but I think by the time we left, I'd had 12 or 13. They had a great variety of wine, mostly whites, but everything from bubbly to dry to sweet. One of my favorite stops!!!

Hello Kihyland, thank you for stopping at Casa Larga Vineyards, we do appreciate your visit. Yes, we are convenient...south of Rochester NY and just north of NYS Thruway. We just celebrated 45 years of producing award winning wines here in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York State. We remember when there were less than 10 wineries in the Finger Lakes and now there are 400 wineries and 1,600 family owned vineyards. Our founders, Mr. and Mrs C. knew they were on to something! Come see us again when you are in the area. GO NY WINES!

Beautiful and tasty
Oct 2019 • Friends
Driving through the area and decided to make a stop. Beautiful location. Once we were inside we were greeted by a wonderful staff. We ended up doing a wine flight that allowed us to try a number of different wines. Ended up purchasing a few bottles. What a great find.

Hello sdgibsonlp62. Thank you for stopping in, we appreciate it very much. Yes we agree, our Tasting Ambassadors are wonderful, they so enjoy sharing their love and knowledge of wine will all our visitors. Thank you for noticing their spirit! 2019 is our 45th year of producing award winning wines here in Rochester NY and we are so looking forward to 45 more years. We just released our newest wine, a fortified wine called Porto Rosso, a ruby port, using Black Button Distillery bourbon barrels It is dang delicious and if you pair it with dark chocolate and walnuts, well....you have to hang on, it is heavenly. I'm hoping when you were here you were able to try my favorite, our 2018 Muscat Ottonel Pet-Nat, a fresh, dry, unfiltered sparkling wine produced by a natural, centuries old technique. It is crazy good. Please come visit again, when you are able. Have a wonderful New Year, here comes 2020!!!

Beautiful location and winery
Oct 2019
We went to this local winery a few days ago with friends visiting from northwest Canada. Unfortunately, our experience was boring. The wines were excellent but the person pouring the wines did not explain or add anything about the wines. In fact, at one point she left us and reappeared later. I had to ask questions about each wine to learn their content (grape variety).

A Taste of the Finger Lakes Wine Country
Sep 2019 • Couples
We stopped in as this was the closest winery to where we were staying. I was very interested in tasting their ice wine. You get 5 choices for $5, and can try the ice wine for an additional $2. We especially liked the Lilac Hill. The ice wine was very sweet, and I can understand why its considered a dessert wine. THe education on the different offerings was a nice touch as well. Overall a good experience.

Thank you ImportR06 for stopping buy, we appreciate it very much. Yes the Lilac Hill is a fan favorite, and the official wine of the Rochester Lilac Festival. Yes Ice Wine is traditionally sweet as the grapes are picked when frozen and when pressed frozen it is the sweet nectar that is the end product. When you serve Ice Wine may we suggest that instead of the serving with your dessert, try serving it with Gorgonzola, or Blue cheese or Parmesan. Or oysters or pate, or salty nuts. The salty sweet pairing takes it to the next level. If you are in the area on Saturday Feb 15, 2020, we host the NYS Ice Wine and Culinary Festival and you will be able to sample so many wonderful Ice Wines and Ice Wine infused foods that will surprise you! Thank you again for stopping by!

Patio Party with friends
Aug 2019
I attended my first patio party last night at Casa Larga Vineyards. It was a picture perfect early Fall evening and we enjoyed the event. We had previously purchase our admission tickets so , I was not anticipating any problems getting through the long line that had formed when we arrived, however, three of the party got their wrist bands and were quickly processed in, I however was switched between the two ladies at the check in table at least six times. Don't know why, but they could not decide which should deal with me. A little frustrating as the others were waiting. The wine was Ok and the red I choose was good enough to require a second glass. Was it worth $7 ,maybe. We ventured over to the "Food Trucks" to check out their menu's. Prices were kind of expensive for what we got, as the quality and taste we just Ok. The band or group Soul Express was really a DJ that played a lot of CD's very loudly. He and a female artist had a couple of songs, but mostly prerecorded stuff. The crowd was formidable and very chatty.
If Casa Large offers these patio parties again next year I will probably attend, but I will limit my consumption to the one glass you get with the admission ticket and I'll bring a snack pack of cheese and crackers.

Hello rnapier77, thank you so much for joining us at the Patio Party this season. 2019 was our 5th year of Thursday night summer fun. We are sorry for the blip at check in, we admit that occasionally we miss the mark and we do learn from our blips. I believe I was working registration that night and at the end of the evening we did review what occurred and implemented the repair. Over the years, our Customers consistently request that we book all different types of music. The 2020 line up will include: country, soul, rock, reggae, jazz, disco, blue grass, wedding singers, top 40, pop and more. We hope you will consider joining us again in 2020! Thank you.

Wine Tasting w/ Hedonist

We came to Casa Larga for my fiancé’s birthday and had a blast! The hostess was very knowledgeable and engaged with the guest. Definitely would recommend for anyone who’s interested in a calm, nice, relaxing activity to do.

Hello Allenp0829, thank you for coming in, we apprentice it very much. The wine and chocolate tasting option is a huge customer favorite and happy you enjoyed it too. And how about that curry pistachio chocolate with the Medium Dry Riesling? Nirvana, right? Thank you for your kind words, our Tasting Ambassadors are great, they work hard at it to make it all relaxing and easy! We are gearing up for our 45th Al Fresco Anniversary by the Vineyard on Sunday August 18th, to celebrate 45 years of outstanding NY wine wine making. The time has gone by fast. Thank you again for coming in and enjoy the remaining days of summer.

Saks 5th Ave price for a Walmart-quality event
Dec 2018 • Friends
I really wanted to like this place. The buildings are elegant, the ambience is nice, and their wine is not too bad for NY state. But now I have attended two patio parties and one large event, and my overwhelming impression is that Casa Larga just doesn't have its act together. I heard the budget discussions and I know what they paid to have the event there, and it was a small fortune. For all that money, the food was merely adequate, fairly basic stuff and much of the supposed-to-be-hot food was cold. The servers were very pleasant and professional, and did the best they could but these folks were run off their feet. Everyone waited far too long to be served, they were seriously understaffed for a large event. If it was just this once I'd say oh maybe because it's flu season they have a lot of people out this week. But both patio parties were the same, just not enough people working to handle all the guests.

Come on, Casa Larga, you could be fabulous. But if you are understaffed at every event, and charging a lot for a mediocre spread, it makes you look cheap, and doesn't leave the customers with a "we care about our guests" feeling.

Thank you for your compliment of our wine. I am one of the owners of Casa Larga and I am sorry to hear that you felt our team was understaffed and that you did not enjoy any of the three events you attended here. I am very conscious of hearing customer complaints and using that feedback to improve our services. If you are willing to further discuss these issues I would love to hear your feedback to understand how we can improve our food service offerings and staff. We take great pride in going above and beyond to offer exceptional customer service so that each guest is well taken care of. Please send me an email at info@casalarga.com with your name and information and I will give you a call. Or call the winery at 585-223-4210 and ask for Andrea. If you are open to visiting the winery I would be happy to talk with you in person. We could taste some wines from our vineyards and other very fine NY vintners to share with you the breadth and depth of the NY wine industry.

A most awful experience
Nov 2018 • Business
The dining room was packed with people attending a charity event, but because of the terrible acoustics, no one could hear anyone else, so the entire evening became a shouting match. To cap this, a third rate band was playing the loudest dirge I've heard in a while.

The bar was totally understaffed and there was a continual line of folks waiting to get drinks.
As for the food - the steamed broccoli was actually cold, so cold I thought it was a new way of serving it. And Mac & cheese being the main starch? More long lines of folks waiting to get a choice of meat, which was barely warm.

This is a place I would never attend again if invited to a function there.
