As one of the world’s premier music schools, the Eastman School of Music has been enriching the musical life of Rochester since 1921. Today, the School presents more than 700 concerts a year in the magnificent Eastman Theatre, intimate Kilbourn Hall, and the modern Hatch Recital Hall – providing the Rochester community with an exceptional opportunity to experience world-class music in a world-class setting. The School’s rich and diverse concert season features prominent guest artists, our own acclaimed faculty, and our incredibly talented students and ensembles. No matter what type of music you prefer, you’re certain to hear it at Eastman: Classical, jazz, and opera. Symphonic and chamber music. Early music, new music, world music – there is something for everyone! The general public is welcome at all Eastman concerts and performances. Remarkably, most concerts are free; those that are not are modestly priced.

Lovely for music, opera decor. All seats are good despite it being a large theater. Parking is an issue, plan on using a garage or parking far away.

The bar is located across from the dining area, literally. Good, delicious stiff drinks made the transition from business talk to dinner conversation go smoothly. Restaurant has a terrific menu (meats, fish, chicken and pasta) and the food was great on all fronts. Salads, entrees...More

We came here to listen to the RPO play and were not disappointed. A testament to the skill of the RPO and the Eastman Theater's design. The building is beautiful, I enjoy just sitting there and looking around.

We attend 5 or 6 performances each year in this outstanding piece of history. Recent renovations enhanced its overall appeal. Seating is tight and the leg room is lacking but this does not distract from the outstanding performances. This is definitely a 5 star venue.

I like the theatre but the seats are to small. The music was great and the staff was also stellar. Keep up the good work

It's hard to add much to what has already been said, but I'll give it a try. I was there last week for a performance of Beethoven's Ninth. The orchestra and the oratorio singers sounded superb, even from the last balcony, where I sat. Acoustics,...More
