Nice park downtown with an urban waterfall, greenery and evening concerts in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

Every year at Christmas time we make it a point to go ice skating at Manhattan Square Park. They usually play Christmas music and have the fireplace going inside. A number of years ago they did a major renovation to the rink and the warming house and it is now a lot better. The rink is not big which is not a problem unless it is real crowded. Skating is only $5 and it can also be rented out for private events. They also have ice bikes for rent and "walkers" for the beginner skaters (free). If there is no street parking available, we park in the Strong Museum of Play lot next door.

This was built in an era of impersonal concrete architecture so it always feels very unemotional and cold. However, it can be useful for music and other events so it has some redeeming value.

Located next to the STRONG museum of play, this place is a great before or after museum run and around or skate. My boys love it, 3 and 5 year old.

this is where they have moved the party in the park - while it is a better location, the stage is at the bottom of a hill - so in order to get a drink or further back from stage, you have to go straight up and then you no longer see the stage.. but it is a decent place - I have never skated there
