We were a bit disappointed to see only a small number of vendors were at the market when we arrived on Tuesday. The indoor market was almost non-operational. The fruits and veggies did look very fresh and reasonably priced. We would have grabbed a bunch if we were staying in town. Head that Saturday would be a much better day to visit.

The public market is a great place to purchase food directly from farmers. There are two open pavilions and one enclosed area. There are also a few stands that sell
food cooked to order in a separate area and two or three coffee shops. There is also a restaurant open in the evening.

After reading mostly good reviews and being a traveler from the Midwest, I was somewhat excited to experience this. We went mid-morning on a Thursday on a cold and damp day. It was rather boring and not what I was expecting from the hype this place was getting. Most of the venue was void of vendors and there were few people attending. That made it easy to look. Prices on much of the produce looked reasonable, some downright a bargain compared to a store like Aldi. Didn't buy anything since we were traveling. It took us less than a half hour to see it all. I'm sure on a Saturday and with better weather the crowd would be better.

Go at sunrise and first go to durand Eastman Beach followed by the market....we go almost every Saturday from spring to late fall. When I brought back the better than grocery store produce and told my mom what we had paid....she had to go check it out for herself!!

Got going in the morning and decided to see the Rochester Public Market on a Saturday morning. I have been there for a few bands at night such as Lou Gramm and that was an enjoyable experience.
During the day is a bit different. I started with a breakfast sandwich, a dragonfruit/orange juice and a muffin from different establishments. There are a number of places where you can get baked goods, cheeses, coffee and other assorted snacks or breakfast items to fill you up. I picked up some camel jerky and pastries for my girlfriend. The inside vendors carry a number of meats, fish and other food and non-food items to stock up on.
The outside vendors have some crafts and discount goods but mostly a large variety of fruits and vegetables. Some of the vendors do have some good prices and quality items which has a big appeal. If I lived closer I think I would stop by a couple times a month to stock up on some things.
It is nice to walk around on a good day and see the art on the building walls and people watch. The market had decent crowds even with Covid protocols. If you haven't experienced the market, you should get down there once to check it out.

Over the past 5 years we have been to a number of Farmers' Markets in the Finger Lakes. This was our 1st time in Rochester and 1st time at this Farmer's Market. The produce was incredible! Three of the 4 long shed in this market are outside (with roofs, but no walls) - wearing our masks, we felt comfortable here. Many of the purveyors were from farms, as evidenced by the names on their trucks. We bought a 20 lb bag of freshly picked apples for $10 at one stand, and 2 large containers of blueberries at another stand for $7. We also bought locally made, scented bars of soap and maple syrup from a farm in the region. If we lived locally we would go here every week. There are free parking lots on the edges of the property. What a gem!

Minus the "flying Fish" it reminded me a lot of Pike Place Market in Seattle. There were so many unique booths, that consisted of food, jewelry, clothing, the biggest vegetables I have ever seen, and so much more. Such a great time wandering through the aisles looking at everyone's crafts. This is a must go, and something for the whole family.

Getting here using GPS is straight forward & with plenty of free parking there is no reason not to visit! I stopped here for a grab and go lunch, a ham & butter baguette! Driving here is fine but I wouldn't recommend riding a bike. I didn't see a dedicated bike path.

The hours listed above are correct. if you are going on Saturday go early (before 10), because it gets really busy. i have been there other days and they really start closing up around 12:30. it is really a very good market, enjoy your visit.

Is a list of vendors at the market available, and if so where can I find it?

There is not a list I know about however more information is available at the public market web site. With over 300 vendors on Saturdays the market can keep you busy for hours. Also there are great cafes and font miss the bakeries.
