Each fall, we do a winery tour with our neighbors. We pick a lake, then decide on 4 or 5 places to visit. Last year, we went on Halloween weekend and stayed overnight in Bath, NY (near Hammondsport). Had a wonderful time! We always bring home local vintages to enjoy later. Definitely recommend.

The Finger Lakes are amazing in themselves for cottages, camping, water sports, relaxing, hiking, etc. But the wine, oh, the wine! There are so many amazing wineries in this area it'll make your head spin. Cayuga Lake alone has something like 16 wineries surrounding it. I highly recommend doing the trails while an event is happening. You get a cool... More

Every year my husband and I go to the wine country specifically to the Dr. Constantine Frank Winery to pick up two cases of their wine. We got lost in area and came up on a lovely town of Hammondsport, decided to make a stop, we found out about several wineries in the area. It was the first one, Dr.... More

I have had the opportunity to go on a few wine tours and even drive some people around for one. It's always a great experience and the people are always friendly and informative. Oh, the wine is always the greatest too.

There is such much to do from shopping at the Amish Markets to visiting a winery. The views are amazing. So many wonderful restaurants on the lakes, great food great view. I wouldn't say it is in Rochester, it is about 25 miles southeast It is well worth the ride.

We drove thru this area and did a nice picnic by the lake and also went to the Hosmer Winery. Very nice wines. Did a wine tasting for 5$ each in which on could taste 6 wines each

The Finger Lakes Wine Country begins around 30 miles southeast of Rochester. It's incredibly scenic and you could spend many summers visiting the many wineries. It's something any wine lover should just do.

Actual visit - late August 2015 The entire region was a "small town" playground. We went to only one winery, but as we went through the region, the signages throughout tells you that there is such a wide variety. The one we went to did not disappoint. The rural landscape is very relaxing, going through backroads in the summer. We... More

The nation's oldest wine trail continues to get better. I spent most of my time on the Cayuga Lake section. It never disappoints. White wine is reliably delicious at any winery. My favorite grape is the Cayuga White. It was developed for this region. There are reds along the trail. I'm not much of a red wine fan but others... More

The views and landscape are breathtaking! There are so many restaurants, breweries and wineries depending on what you like. I have always had a great experience in the Finger Lakes and still have so much more to explore!
