Although I have only been to a few of the tons of wineries, the visits have been enjoyable and scenic. This region is overflowing with beauty and wine. There are also a few beer places being developed. Some lakes (Seneca) have so many wineries that it is impossible to visit them all in a weekend. You can even hire a... More

The hardest part a visitor will have is finding a place to get into the lake(s). Area is beautiful, laid back, friendly.

We enjoy the countryside scenery especially along Seneca and Skaneateles Lakes. Many opportunities for wine tasting but also parks like Watkins Glen -most wonderful waterfalls. Will be spectacular when fall colors are out.

The Finger Lakes region of NY has an incredible array of things for the whole family -- the lakes and gorgeous parks (and gorges) are fantastic places to spend a week. If you've only got a day, pick a lake and go wine/cider/distillery/cheese tasting. Personal fave is the west side of Cayuga, since it's got all of the above as... More

We have lived in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine Country for 34 years. The people are welcoming, and the area is blessed with the gifts of Academia (Scholars, Sculptors, Artists and Musicians) and all of the outstanding folks who reside here and make it happen; and many, many wineries (the most rapidly growing business in the Finger Lakes), nearly... The Finger lakes were formed by glaciers and this has created beautiful waterfalls, gorges and good growing conditions for grapes. You can hardly drive a mile, in some areas, without passing a winery. My favorite is the Seneca Lake wine trail with stops at the stores in Watkins Glen and Geneva on the other end of the lake. If in... More

There are so many wineries on these finger lakes. No matter what your taste is, you can find it on a finger lakes wine tour. Wine, craft beers, hard cider, etc.

My husband and I have frequently visited Finger Lakes Wine Country over the years and have always enjoyed our time there. I still don't think we have managed to visit all of the wineries in the area but maybe we will get there yet. We do indent to keep visiting the area to take in the beautiful views of Seneca... More

So many wineries both on the East side and the West side of the Lake. On the West side are some favorites: Fox Run with a great cafe with seating overlooking the Lake, Glenora with cheese sampling along with the wine tasting and Miles in a haunted house!

Open views of the lakes and so many wineries to stop for a tasting you cannot beat this area for a fun day or weekend of winery hopping. We did Seneca Lake with a stop in Watkins Glen for lunch. The Nascar track is here as well as a lovely state park.
