Actual visit - late August 2015 The entire region was a "small town" playground. We went to only one winery, but as we went through the region, the signages throughout tells you that there is such a wide variety. The one we went to did not disappoint. The rural landscape is very relaxing, going through backroads in the summer. We... More

The nation's oldest wine trail continues to get better. I spent most of my time on the Cayuga Lake section. It never disappoints. White wine is reliably delicious at any winery. My favorite grape is the Cayuga White. It was developed for this region. There are reds along the trail. I'm not much of a red wine fan but others... More

The views and landscape are breathtaking! There are so many restaurants, breweries and wineries depending on what you like. I have always had a great experience in the Finger Lakes and still have so much more to explore!

Started off at Fox Run Winery after visiting Grace Gardens. The wines are very good and the cheese and wine plate was also very good. Went on to visit 9 more wineries on both sides of Seneca Lake and would have to come back a couple of more times to visit them all.

There are many wineries in the Finger Lakes region, but Seneca Lake is the best since there are so many all around the lake. Driving around the lake is beautiful with a few small towns where lunch can be had. Most wineries offer a deal if a case is bought. I have visited summer, fall, winter, and spring. One of... More

It is worth taking a look at overall wine production if you want to travel in this area and focus on the wine. The truth is that much of the wine made here is sold to tourists and relatively little of it is sold outside the area. It's tough to find a consistent source of Finger Lakes wines in New... More

I'm constantly amazed how many people, even those who live elsewhere in New York State, are totally unaware of the Finger Lakes region. It is absolutely beautiful, with long, some very deep, glacier-carved lakes, wonderful wineries, and heaven for boaters and those who love fishing. If you are anywhere near this area, explore it to its fullest. You will not... More

If any of your friends visiting from out-of-state like wine (who doesn't!?) you must spend some time driving up and down one of the finger lakes, soaking up the scenery and trying some of the many wines along the coasts. Even for those of us who live in the area, there is much to explore time after time -- there... More

Seasoned wine aficionados and wine fans of any level will find plenty to enjoy exploring the Finger Lakes Wine Country. All of the wineries I have visited offer tastings of their products and many are situated in beautiful settings with stunning views. The staff are always happy, when they aren't overwhelmed with visitors, to talk about the various wines on... More
