About
Greig Farm is a third-generation family farm located in Red Hook, NY. Marion and Robert Greig began the farm in 1942 with a small herd of dairy cows, an apple orchard and a strawberry patch, which was open to the public. Their son, Norman Greig, began farming in 1975 and gradually added blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, pumpkins and other crops to the farm. We have always felt a responsibility to provide our community with a welcoming space and sustainably-grown, healthy produce. Our 1850s dairy barn, once home to seventy cows, is now home to our farm market & cafe, an art gallery & studio, a jewelry studio, a private event space and a brewery & taproom. Our home is your home, and we look forward to the next 70+ years in the Hudson Valley.

We dropped by briefly late morning so our 7 year old daughter can feed the goats and koi fish in the pond. We visited during the season when it's not fruit or pumpkin picking time, so the activities on the farm was pretty limited. You can basically drive up to their market, make your purchases inside or have lunch. There are signs directing you to the hiking trails, the goats and the koi pond. You don't have have to check in with any one on the farm. You just park your car and then walk around on your own. There isn't a welcoming party at the door directing you to go to certain places on the farm. I suspect once it is high season, there would be more staff on hand to direct traffic and answer any questions.

The farm itself is worth the visit whether you pick and buy or just enjoy the property. If you don't want to pick for yourself the amazing NATURAL crops are available at the farm store where the food at the cafe is comforting not to mention delicious and you will find friendly people to share your time with and a great selection of grocery items. Afterward you can go feed the goats who are loveable or head down the road to the nursery to browse plants or check out the little koi pond. So much fun for families and after years of spending time here we consider them ours.

Our annual pilgrimage from Brooklyn NY last Sunday was rather great. My parents would come every year, unfortunately they both had passed within the last 3 years.
Picked 3 bags worth of 3 varieties. My wife and I came years ago but no apples, berries were plentiful. However, that year my leg got twisted in a 3-foot hole along the berry orchard. Informed staff at booth, no care in the world, said that Mother Nature! Really!?!?

We stopped in during the night of apple season and I was surprised how small an area of the store was devoted to produce. Most of the store contained packaged goods which I can get at my local supermarket for less. We did split an order of fish and chips which we enjoyed and the goats were cute.

We revisited Greig Farm in July 2020 after at least 15 years from the last time we were up this way. They had much more imported (either local or national "pseudo-farm" brands) in the store up front and very little home grown items.
If this is owned by the same family-as claimed- was not the same bunch of nice people I remember.
Overall, OK BUT it had a very downstate NY feel to it. It used to have a true Upstate NY feel to it. Next time I will do a little more research and find a more authentic farm somewhere close by.

We were traveling. It was lunch time so we stopped here to get something to eat. It was on a Wednesday and the kitchen was closed but they did offer soup and chili. My wife took a container (about a pint) of soup and I took the chili. Also took two drinks from the cooler, 2 cookies and a blueberry muffin. The bill was $32.00. I feel that was pretty expensive for the items we got. Too bad because the stand did have many other choices of vegetables and cheeses, honey and jams, etc. I won't be stopping here again.

Took a rainy day ride to this cute little farm. The aromas from outside draw you in. My mom and I both ordered lunch and split our sandwiches - so delicious. We had the Ruben and the French Dip! The side of horseradish dip was amazing! The corned beef had zero fat. Highly recommend this spot! Oh and the little store had such an array of items to shop for.

Apple and pumpkin picking at the Greig Farm in Red Hook, NY, is fun, accessible and the produce is excellent. Situated on over a hundred acres, the scenic fields and orchards provide a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Whe I visited, nursing a sprained ankle, the well groomed orchards were easily traversed.
In addition to the picking, there is a farm bakery, a winery and a garden center on the property. There is also a variety of farm animals to visit.
With over thirty years in the business, Greig Farm provides a safe and enjoyable outing.

We selected this pick-your-own farm because it was open late. Not crowded. What a terrific choice. First time I've ever gone apple picking but I have picked other edibles previously. Welcoming. Clear instructions. Well labeled signs with type of apple and best weeks to pick for taste and ripeness. Can drive right up to orchards. The "PLUS" was we purchased a lot of apples, paid, and unfortunately forgot to put the apples in the car and drove away not realizing it until 11:00 p.m. when we arrived home over 100 miles away. I called the farm the next morning and before I even finished a sentence Mr. Greig said, "I know. You forgot the apples. I'll mail them to you," and he did! Thank you Mr. Greig.

We've been going here for 15 years. We used to live to hon in the fall for the Harvest Fairs. We loved the pumpkin patches. Then we discovered their "pick your own" blueberries and so we began to do this every summer. This year I went for blackberries in addition to blueberries. Totally Awesome! We went here in September for apples. We like to stop at the nursery, Grandiflora, down the street & the farm store market, too. Redhook & Rhinebeck & Tivoli are towns nearby that are wonderful to browse around & shop. Plenty of beautiful scenery & antiques shops, glea markets, restaurants and places to do outdoor activities nearby. We travel an hour to and from, by the way. Always enjoy our visits.
