If you're looking for fresh, local cheese this is your place! Great for children who like to be around animals.

Found Sprout Creek through our cheesemonger, then found out they are also an education-focused working farm that people can visit. Very quiet when we were there, but they offer numerous classes and talks. Open access to barns and animals. Shop for cheeses, ice cream and butcher products.

We stopped by numerous times to visit the baby goats and watch them grow. We've been visiting Sprout Creek for over a decade, it's a wonderful farm to visit. The market was under renovation when we were there last, but we will go back soon to see the changes and purchase fresh eggs and cheese.

Baby goats, lovely grounds... but beware of brunch. Mothers Day brought adorable baby goats frolicking in the pasture, and older ones served on the buffet.

Enchanting farm with goats, sheep, cows, chickens, cats, and all their children. The cheeses here, the focal point, are as good as you will find anywhere in the world. The ice cream is also wonderful. Hang our with the the animals, pet them, let your kids run wild. This place is laid back, but seriously fun.

Foodies, families, and just about anyone will find something to love on this diverse farm. If you're stopping here as part a food tour, the cheese and everything else is delicious and amazingly fresh. The camps they offer for children enrich all who attend--they're wonderfully run and create good memories and education to last a lifetime. Our teen daughter attended a summer camp here and came away inspired...

My kids and I stopped here as it was recommended on Tripadvisor and it did not disappoint! We were made to feel very welcome! My kids loved meeting all of the animals and getting kisses from goats! They also loved just being free to be kids and running up and down the path through the farm. Afterwards we bought some jerky and ice cream. We will be back!

my 3 year old grandson so much enjoys visiting at Sprout Creek Farm. He is familiar with the barnyard smells, the cats, the new born calfs and goats, the occasional mooing of the cow if one happens to be in the barn at the time of our visit, the flutter of barn swallows aloft. If we are lucky there will be pigs. In the summer they so much like to wallow in the mud. "Why do they like the mud". And we will wander over to the chickens, hens, ducks and sometimes turkeys hanging out in their coop. Cock-a-doodle do. One feisty rooster will chase another arising creating mayhem amongst the flock and glee in my grandson's eyes. It is a great place to get fresh cheeses. The ice cream is an added attraction especially in summer. The farm is open all year round. We have always been welcome to visit. Several evenings during the summer feature cookouts.

Fun & educational for kids. My 78 yr old dad even loved walking around looking at the animals. However, if there was nothing to look at here, the cheese alone is worth the trip.

Do I need a car to get to the farm?
Written July 1, 2016
Yes. Unless you want to go to a town and stay a few days--Poughkeepsie, Beacon--which you can get to by train, you need a car to enjoy Any of the counties in the HUDSON Valley.
