Beautiful campus on the Hudson River. I visited with my daughter as she is a senior in high school. Our tour guide was excellent and gave us a complete tour of the campus even though we could not enter any of the buildings. The campus is laid out well with pathways and lots of well maintained greenery. The campus is right off Rt 9 so there is some traffic noise but it's not disturbing at all. Marist has a great academic program and all the staff and students that we met were helpful, cordial and nice to deal with during our short stay. I would highly recommend a visit to Marist College for folks that are in the area or if you daughter or son has any interest in attending this school.

We took the turn into the campus at the suggestion of a family we met at an attraction further up the Hudson. Campus is lovely, buildings are interesting, location in the riverside is worth the 15 minute drive through. Surprised and disappointed to see throngs of students at a local food truck, all closely packed and unmasked.

Marist College, while not a tourist attraction, has my vote for the most pleasant surroundings one can visit during a sightseeing trip to the Mid-Hudson Valley. I rank it right up there with more obvious attractions such as The Waterfront (Poughkeepsie), Hyde Park (Springwood, FDR’s home), The Vanderbilt Estate, and other historical venues.

We visited during Summer Recess, which added to the idyllic ambiance of the campus. There were a few students walking about and some construction projects underway but in-general it was a pastoral scene which elicited an almost uncontrollable urge to spread-out a picnic blanket, on the manicured lawns, and take a nap!

We plan to re-visit the campus, a mere 3-hour drive from our home in NJ, again in the Fall and Winter or Spring; perhaps during a college sponsored recreational event. I’m familiar with the regattas held along the Schuylkill River, in our native Philadelphia, and would like to attend one along the Hudson.

Marist is a gorgeous college campus in the banks of the Hudson River. The views are stunning in every season.
My daughter is a student here, and for her it was love at first sight! Our whole family enjoys visiting her to watch a football game in the fall or a basketball game over the winter months.
It is an impressive property with some very handsome architecture. Marist just completed a new building, The Hancock Center in 2011, added a walkway under Rt 9, and they are currently working on an overhaul of the Student Center. The library is spectacular. A chair on the first floor overlooking the Hudson is a fabulous spot to read.
The McCann Arena is a terrific athletic complex and Tenney Stadium is a comfortable outdoor stadium with turf field.

It is certainly a lovely spot!

When we visit we usually like to visit Amici's restaurant, and take in some other area attractions too. FDR homestead is terrific & the Culinary Institute also an impressive, yummy stop. The Walkway Over the Hudson & Locust grove are absolutely worth visits as well.

Great campus to visit with beautiful buildings, a variety of architecture and well groomed grounds. Walk along the river walk on the Hudson and enjoy the beauty of the river.

I came up to the Marist College Campus for the first time after passing it for over twenty years on my way up to Culinary Institute where I went to school. Cornell University where I also attended was playing them for football and what a spectacular little stadium. It is a nice place to watch a game. Just make sure you buy the section with the lawn and not in the stands. The lawn area on a nice day is just nice and relaxing; The stadium is right off Route 9 so you can see what is going on when you drive in.

After the game, I took some time and walked around campus. It is the image of a small Eastern school with the rolling hills and old buildings right next to the Hudson River. What a place to go to school!

My son is a student here and I can't say enough how wonderful this school is. Beautiful campus, right on the Hudson River. They have done such a beautiful job keeping all the buildings and grounds perfect, and the staff takes pride in that. Wonderful place to send your son or daughter

Marist College is located in Poughkeepsie, NY. It sprawls on a beautifully landscaped campus. The buildings are modern and well maintained. Their library is expansive with a fine academic collection as well as up-to-date technology.

My husband graduated from here (when it was taught by the Marist Brothers and it was all male students!) and a daughter took some summer courses here. They have a long reputation of excellent education. Many students from surrounding states. Many from Long Island NY area and Ct.
Great communications center. Great Crew racing on the mighty Hudson River. A few old stand out bldgs. and modern ones too.
Convenient to all kinds of shopping, restaurants and historical sites. The Hudson Valley is rich in history! The Culinary Institute of America and Vassar College are not far. Beautiful in the fall!
Put it on your list of college tours.
