I am not an Episcopalian, but St. Stephen's has many community features. Don't miss their wonderful fairs, held a few times a year, their thrift shop and the annual performance of Handel's Messiah at Christmas, followed by refreshments in the parish hall. They also have programs for senior citizens. St Stephen's lifts my spirits!

I moved out of Port Washington, but attended St. Stephen's for a number of years while living there. I found the comfort of belonging to a religious community that I was looking for there. I have never forgotten one December when most of the town had no electricity. The pastor and his wife did have it, and invited the parishioners without it to their home for some heat and warm food. It was lovely.

Family
We've been attending St Stephen's since we move to Port in 1995, and it is the church my husband grew up in , so I'm biased. We have found life long friends, love the wonderful music, uplifting services, and welcoming Sunday school and - we're Episcopal - so of course the coffee hour is great.

After a lovely regular Episcopal service, marked by a terrific choir and excellent sermon, we went to coffee hour in the parish hall. The conversations ranged from discovering a choir member's mother did meditation, a business owner is looking for major funding, one guy just got into a size 42 after losing over 50 pounds and that the terrific coffee comes from Porto Rico coffee shop located on Bleeker St. All in all, a very good place to feed the soul and body.
