Beautiful road but not for the faint at heart! As shown in the Marvel movie, Dr Stange, it is very windy and the short block wall is the guard rail. This was in the beginning of the movie, where he has the car accident. Worth the trip to see the view and windy road!

Bring your camera and get busy. We included this drive along with our tour of the Delaware River Water Gap region. It is one of the highlights with so many views, twists and turns and geographical features The time of day and sunlight makes a difference when viewing. It is akin to looking down into a canyon in parts and the sunlight makes a difference in what what and how you see the landscape.. There are numerous towns north and south for a bite to eat, some shopping or to have a drink. For adventure seekers, there are numerous kayaking and tubing opportunities on the river.

Heard so much about this area noted in magazines and watched movies and commercials using this route - and it did not disappoint. Short but with many twists and turns and all with breathtaking views of the mountainside and the picturesque Delaware River. Continued and drove further north and just enjoyed the scenery Must for photos and video! So glad we can claim we drove it!

A nice view. Overall nice with a small observation point with a nice view over the town of Port Jervis.
Just something to see if you are in the area. Will take maybe 15 minutes.
Parking can be a bit limited.

Done this drive several times. Very pretty views of river below and mountains above. Short drive compared to tail of the dragon in North Carolina and million dollar highway in Colorado. Saw lots of motorcycles enjoying the ride.

Breathtaking views, lots of twisties, just wish is was ten miles longer! We went early on a Saturday morning before the route got crowded with tourists and literally had the road to ourselves. A definite first; to be able to go at your own pace, pull off at any designated area and not have to wait for any photo ops or viewing.

Nice scenic ride. We drove this road the entire length to Hanover, NY. It's most scenic on the stretch around Pt Jervis. It's worth driving up to the Roebling Aqueduct Bridge, but not past that point since it wasn't as scenic.

One of the coolest drives along the Delaware River. The Hawks Nest winding cliff on one side and a two foot thick stone wall hundreds of feet above the Delaware River on the other. Stop at one of the overlook parking sites and look down on the river rafters Paddling down during the summer or check out the fall foliage sunsets. The Dr Strange Marvel movie Lamborghini scene was filmed on the Hawks Nest.

Route 97 is perfect for a nice ride on a summer day or evening. The Hawks Nest ( a stretch of road used in several car commercials) has pull offs with nice views of the Delaware River below. As you go along Rt 97 you parallel the Delaware for scenic views. Further north on 97 are some good places to eat or shop for antiques. There are also many historic locations along the river.

Absolutely beautiful. Definitely pull off into one of the viewing areas and simply enjoy. Eagles are almost always there.

I understand there was a Hawk'sNest Diner on that Hawk's Nest Rd. Does anyone have photos of where that might have been located?
