Stopped by here and the square out front was full of people, and kids with their family. Lots of activity going on outside, but the indoor space doesn't really have much seating at all, so don't come here with a group unless you plan to be outdoors. Had a sampler of beer to-go and the variety was excellent, price was reasonable for NY. We need to return when we have time to spend. Parking can be difficult here though.

My wife and I stopped in while waiting for our daughter who was taking a placement test at Stony Brook University. Our bartender was extremely knowledgeable about the 11 beers on two and we gladly tried the 5 beer sampler for $5.00. The beers were fantastic and we walked out at the end of our visit with a 1\2 growler if Shandy (which you can only get there). It is a must visit spot if you are in Port Jeff!

Great location. Great variety of beers some better than others. The decor is cool and the atmosphere is very friendly.

My friends and I were on Long Island for a friend's 50th birthday party and we had some time to kill, so we spent the afternoon in Port Jefferson. We toured the little seaside town and enjoyed the shops. We especially loved the boat refurbishing place--learning about how they restore boats was super cool. After walking around for a while, we stopped at the Port Jefferson Brewery, which had an interesting selection of beers brewed on premises; all seven of us were beer lovers, and so we decided to hang out there for the afternoon. The beer was very good, however, the young lady working the taps was just awful. Every question was answered with an eye roll or a flippant response. She acted like we were bothering her. We ordered seven beers and drank them on the patio rail. Instead of talking about the town or how good the beer tasted, we talked about the rude girl working the brewery. As we sat there, we noticed several other folks arriving with smiles on their faces and leaving with frowns. We didn't order a second round and it seemed like nobody else did either. We had planned to hang out there for the rest of the afternoon, but we had no desire to go back in and talk to this terrible person. We finished our beers and went a block over to the PJ Lobster House, where the bartender was super friendly and accommodating. Our tab at PJ Lobster House was over $300 dollars. I know that little tourist towns sometimes feel like they don't have to care about repeat business since tourists come and go, but Port Jefferson Brewery lost out on a bunch of additional revenue because the person working there was so rude. Not just our business but several other patrons' business too. Even if the bartender is not thrilled to be there, he/she should be able to present as happy, friendly, and helpful. The beer was so good, I would hate for the day to come when folks struggle to remember the brewery that used to be in Port Jefferson.

I stopped here with my boyfriend to check it out since we both can appreciate a good beer and having been to breweries around the world. They offer 2 tasting options. For $5 you pick 5 or for $10 try all (there are 11 on tap). We did the try all tasting and the nitro was really amazing, the majority of the rest fall into IPA's so if you like that style of beer you'll love it here. If not I hope you like porters. The bartender wasn't super welcoming or friendly but she wasn't rude either. There was a constant flow of people and the tasting room had no seating area so it was only for grabbing a drink and then the seating section was outside which is nice if you have good weather. When I went it was unbearably hot out so we didn't feel like hanging around. On Wednesday nights a live band comes and plays which is cool.

Cool little brewery. Feels like you are in a ship. Can't beat 5 samples of some very different micro brews for $5.00! Souvenir glasses, T-Shirts and hats. Best of all is if you want to take home your favorite, growlers are available to fill-up and go. Worth the time to try to find a parking spot.

They have a decent selection of beers on tap. Seating area is small, not the best place for a crowd. Friendly folks. Best idea may be to get take-out from one of the mahy restaturatns within short walkig distance and eat it here.

A local brewery that has an amazing location in the heart of the local small business shops. Usually they have have very talented bands playing just outside. Two drawbacks....you're limited in your areas to be able to enjoy the selections. Port Jeff Village Constables are pretty strict. Second, the tasting area inside is pretty small. The brews are actually pretty good and worth a stop

They hold FREE concerts every Wednesday throughout the summer, went to every single one! Whats better than an ice cold, locally brewed beer and live music in your HOMETOWN?? Answer? NOTHING!

The building used to be a Christmas shop. So glad they changed it! You can see all the kegs inside the front windows. The tap room is great! There were 11 different beers to taste at a VERY affordable price. The bartender knew every beer VERY well and was also really entertaining. Had many customers to take care of and he was all over it. You can purchase the beer in six packs and in growlers. There was also a great band playing outside that really added to the experence. The beer is really good and my fav was the Beach Party that we also took home with us. Great place to start the night off in Port Jeff, we went for dinner afterwards and enjoyed hanging outside to enjoy the music. BTW I think the music is only Wednesday nights during the Summer.

Yes, provided they stay outside on the deck where there are very few chairs. They will not be allowed in to the small bar area. However, there is an excellent ice cream outlet
a very short walk across a quiet street.
