Stopped here on a whim while in the area and so happy we did. We followed a stone path that took us through the woods to a lake and back to the main building which was a few miles in total. Really happy we decided to stop here and enjoy the nice sunny day!

This is a huge park with easy walking trails around the lake and over the rolling hills. The trails are marked and, if you pick up a map from the entrance, you can meander a while without getting lost. We spent a glorious afternoon admiring the foliage and walking around. There is a working farm inside the park so we took pictures with the grazing sheep and cows.

A huge park; 55 miles of roads, 1700+ acres.
Free parking.
Friendly, knowledgeable rangers in the administration building.
Plenty of hiking trails with varying degree of difficulties; mostly shaded walking areas.
Some trails better marked than others.
National Audubon Society has designated the park as an important bird area.

Beautiful trails, not to difficult. We walked over 7 miles. Saw goat, pigs, sheep, babbling brooks and majestic fields and trees. . And... saw a bounding deer being chased by two coyotes. Deer got away.

Many hiking trails available. Trails are well marked, ranger staff very helpful with trail descriptions. Any hikers we encountered were masked

Great park anytime but even with covid all safe rangers monitoring
Nice picnic tables & area lot of room. Carriage road shaded on a 90F day. Lake scenic. Parking $6 but many parked on road 117.

Great park to walk in. Adjacent to Stone Barns & the Hudson River. Lots of great paved trails with no bicycles to worry about

This state park also borders Stone Barns (Blue Hill) farm/restaurant, and additional private land with carriage trails. It's used by hikers, runners, dog walkers, and horse riders. There are many trail links, and several places to park and enter. Some of the private land recently changed hands (formerly Greenrock Corp), and I hope people respect the land (pick up garbage/dog*) and we continue to be able to use the contiguous trails. Great resource here in Westchester County. Depending on weather we visit a number of times each year. Note that Stone Barns is closed to all but members or paying customers during the Spring-Fall months.

I've been here 4 times and had a lovely experience each time. There is a large lake with turtles, very easy to circumnavigate and it's so peaceful with shade. There are also tons of trails through the woods. The markers could be more plentiful so pay attention to where you are going. Wish it didn't cost $6 each time to park but oh well. Super nice and easy-going place!

Not crowded, easy carriage trails in the serene and peaceful rolling hills of Sleepy Hollow and Pleasantville NY.
Sharing the trail with dog walkers and horseback riders makes you feel like you've gone back in time to 1900's when there were no cars and only horseback.
Walk around a lake with ducks, swans, egrets.

See red tail hawks in the treetops and dozens of blue jays near the glacial erratic, a boulder the size of a school bus left behind with the glacial retreat of the last ice age.

There are cafe's and a small farm near the "Barns".

There is something for everyone at Rockeffeller State Park.
