About
Working farm offering a fall corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, petting zoo, and kids play area. Petting zoo animals include fainting goats, pygmy goats, chickens, pot belly kids, and a calf. The farm also raises Belgian Draft Horses, cattle, and donkeys. We are open from mid September through October for pumpkin picking and corn maze adventures. There is also fresh produce seasonally. Winter sleigh rides run from mid December through February and are located at the Historic John Brown Farm in Lake Placid, NY. The farm also has seasonal produce for sale, as well as fresh eggs.

Went today wide up being there before it opens and found out after I didn't have to wait till it opens I can come in and pet the animals it's free to get in. The only time they charge if fall time for corn maze and pick your own pumpkins
They have tons goats, 2 donkeys, lots horses, chickens, and sheep's. Hoppy is a special needs baby goat super cute who forgotten how be a goat, so he tries go in the farm house and act like house pet

If you go before it opens don't go towards the way back which a blue rope thats bob wire you will get shocked. No I didn't they told us not too

Something we never would have done
Feb 2021 • Couples
Loved the scenery and the owners/helpers were all SO friendly. We got to learn about the history of John Brown and see his home and his burial site. Got some great pictures. The horses were beautiful. I only wish the ride was a tad longer. 10 min or so would have been worth the $40 pp. otherwise, couldn’t have been happier with the experience.🤩

This is a great family activity! A must do when visiting Lake Placid! We loved the story behind the farm. John Brown was an American hero.

It will make you want to sing "over the river and through the woods".

I booked this ride for my sister and I in the small sleigh. We are in our seventies and love winter activities. It was snowing lightly and the scenery is magical and the horse is magnificent. Snuggled under a warm blanket, we enjoyed the ride through the quiet woods and past the John Brown farm. My advice is book as early as you can because this is very popular. Although we booked the private sleigh, the big wagon sled is great for families or groups, and you get 2 great horses.

Enchanted snowy evening

We happened upon the sleigh rides whilst visiting the John Brown historic site. They were able to accommodate us visiting the same day and the older gentleman that ran the sleigh was wonderful. The ride through the woods was magical.
