This park has many walkable trails, including my favorite, the Bird Song Trail where the birds will eat out of your hand. There is a small nature center nearby and the Monroe County Sheriff's stable for their horses is adjacent as well. If you are a horse person, this is a great place to ride. During the summer months, there... More

Our family averages 360 visits a year. We walk the dogs, cross-country ski, watch the sunsets. Mendon Ponds has been an significant part of our lives for 35 years. It's a beautiful place, ever-changing yet still remains the same. Blue-birds, chickadees, deer, foxes, chicken hawks, high-school competitions, trail running, watching the sun's reflection on the water. A place to just... More

Great place to run the roads, the trails, any time of year and amazing for the cross-country skiing. I also love to take a picnic to Quaker Pond and spend the day just soaking up the sun. Around the corner the wildbird trails where the chickadees eat from your hand. Best place to get in touch with your soul.

We had received about four inches of snow so I ventured to Mendon Pond Park and I was so happy I did. I put on my cross country skis and skied the almost three mile loop around Quaker Pond. I parked by Lookout off of Williams Road. There is a sign that states you should be sure and not keep... More

Mendon Ponds Park is the largest park in the Rochester, NY area with 2,500 acres of woodlands, ponds, wetlands and glacially created landforms. In 1969, it was named to the National Registry of Natural Landmarks due to its geologic history and presence of significant kames, eskers, and kettles. Mendon ponds has a beautiful nature center and a wonderful park with lots of hiking trails. Each time my daughter and her husband come here from their home in Hong Kong, they go hiking in the park. I was there last week and they were updating the Nature Center to make it more child friendly.

This huge (2500 acres+) park boasts amazing trails through deep forests, around rate glacial feature and ponds and through picturesque meadows. Check the Monroe County NY website for excellent maps of the meticulously marked trails In winter the usually heavy snow and the many miles of groomed trails make this a magnet for Nordic skiiers from across the country and... Although we were attending a baby shower at the Cobblestone House in Mendon Ponds Park, we were able to drive around the park.It is beautiful! There are ponds and gardens. They have trails for hiking, biking, and for horse riding, too! We actually saw a rider on a palomino horse taking a leisurely ride!

Gigantic park just outside of Rochester. Nature center, Scent garden and Birdsong trail are great family entertainment. Bring some bird seed and the birds will be eating right out of your hand. A wide variety of lodges and shelters can be rented for gatherings. Lots of ponds, large and small formed by the glaciers are perfect for hiking, bird watching... More
