I love bringing my dogs here. Sometimes you see people riding horses, always see deer. Great hiking. Winter is fun too for sledding or cross country skiing. My shepherd is getting old and I like to bring him to remind him of his younger days when he ran endlessly retrieving his ball. Check it out.

I grew up going to mendon ponds and I love it as much as I do today! From sledding in the winter to picnics in the summer, it is a great park for all seasons.

We used to visit Mendon Ponds on a regular basis when we lived in the city. Now that we live so far away from the city itself, we hadn't bothered going to Mendon Ponds in many years, We did decide to go for a hike this weekend though, and we had a grand time hiking through the woods and just... I come here once or twice a month. I lived in the city all my life with traffic, rush hours and this change of scenery opened my eyes to so many thing I was missing. This place gives me peace.

Great hiking close to home. Unique geological formations with lots of up and down. Forest, fields and ponds. Good trails, but easy to miss the main path as trail markings can be lacking some places. Watch out for horses.

We have many happy memories of hand-feeding the chickadees with our children and now our grandchildren. We have had tufted titmice and red-breasted nuthatches eat from our hands as well. The cardinals gather round, but feed on the ground.

We frequently walk our dogs in Mendon Ponds and it's a lovely experience every time. Nice wide trails that meander through the woods and up some nice hills and around the ponds. Great in any season but a delight in winter.

I have been visiting the parks of Monroe Co. and have found them to be very nice hiking locales. This week I went to Mendon Ponds Park. I had been there in winter to feed the birds but this time I wanted to try something different. I discovered that there was a lot more to this park than just Birdsong... More

You'll see horseback riding, cyclists and runners, and families enjoying the park. There are several lodges or pavilions to rent or just show up to play on the playgrounds. It's one of the prettiest places in Rochester.

Mendon Ponds is a very large park that has something for every level of nature enthusiast. The Nature Center is next to a sensory garden and bird/animal rescue center (Wild Wings) that is a must see. From this location you can walk the well-maintained trails that are excellent for children as they include educational stops for children to explore and... More
