Been there many times. The late great John Stewart played there often and had dropins join him.
Saw John Gorka last week. Same good sound, intimate room and real music loving owners. Local and organic , non corporate vibe. Not many left to enjoy. If you like live real music, stop by. You will not be disappointed.

For the up close and personal experience. Rathskeller style VERY small bar and seating area. Mexican food available from the restaurant upstairs. Always top notch entertainers, good service, clean, and reasonably priced tickets.

This place has been here fir years and probably have gone here at least 50 times. Prices are low and the entertainment is lively and sometimes terrific. You never know but for a low cover. Of $15. Who cares. Drinks are not expensive and this is live music. Parking can be tough but use municipal lot across the street.
Really a great place with lots of history

RACIST OWNER. No non-white people allowed. Owner came up to us and told us not to talk. Many others talking but only i was non white and talking for even a less than a minute bothered him. He was horrible to me but not to my white husband. He didn’t come to anyone else talking. He was so rude and disrespectful. Don’t waste your time here! He was such an racist person. We can’t give in to people like this.

If you want to listen to great music in an intimate atmosphere, then come to the Turning Point as often as possible.

Enjoy a pint or two of Guinness or any other favorite adult beverage. But if you want decent food, then eat at home. Food is an afterthought at this place, something meant to fill your belly a bit while you wait for the musicians to take the stage. NOBODY comes here to eat what the kitchen turns out. The place fills up because of the music and the booze. Come when your belly is full. Drink to your heart's content, enjoy the music and tip the hard working waitresses. Don't expect any flavor in anything that arrives from the kitchen.

A great little venue for some great music. The place can't hold more than sixty people. The night we went there were three boogie woogie/ blues piano players. They were great, and fit the atmosphere of the place perfectly. Mexican food was served. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. And the margaritas were good too. All in all a fun evening.

I had tickets for a recent event. Coudn;t make it due to a snow disaster being called. I contacted them and let them know. They implied I would get a refund. But the show apparently went on! So far they refused to make a refund. Will keep you posted as to the outcome.

In the quaint village of Piermont, New York sits what looks like a neighborhood bar. It is tiny with rows of long tables running perpendicular to the stage. There is also a nice bar, and you can order food from a limited menu. The decor is non-existing but the place is authentic in every sense of the word. They have the best Blues and Jazz this side of the Mississippi without going into NYC. How or why the owner gets national acts to stop here is beyond me, but I am not asking any questions because it allows me to get up front and personal with my Blues idols. My husband and I started going here about 7 years ago and it's only a short hour away and definitely easier and cheaper than going to see these acts in Manhattan. The town also has some really great restaurants as well. Over the years we have seen, met, got pictures and autographs, talked to, and hung out with Tommy Castro and his band, Debbie Davies, Coco Montoya, John Mayall, Sax Gordon, the legendary James Cotton, and most recently, we were bowled over by Joe Louis Walker and his band of extremely talented musicians and great guys, I might add. There are some high profile Jazz acts as well but we are mostly into Blues. So if you are a Blues fanatic and love to see national acts, you have to check out this place. You won't believe it!!! And the acts that play there don't care if they are playing for 75 people or in a theater performing for 2,000 people - they kick butt with their performances. It is like they are playing at a private party in your living room. By all means, check out their website and go!!!

I went to Turning Point to attend a Willie Nile event. It was a great intimate venue. Loved it. I didn't eat dinner and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Cute and casual place.

This place has been around a long time and we've been here quite a few times. I still don't know about the food but the opportunity to sit and listen to live music in a relaxed setting makes it well worth a visit. Buy a ticket before you go as it's a small venue and can be sold out.
