My mother still collects thimbles and they are becoming hard to find, the nest egg had them! After stopping in all of the other stores and getting turned down, our search paid off. They have a little bit of everything including fresh fudge. Stop in, you’ll never know what you will find.…

This is a cute little tchotchke store where you can pick up souvenirs and gifts. It had this overall feel as if no one had been in there to shop for a while. Items are crammed into every nook and cranny of the narrow aisles - from t-shirts, novelties, fudge, mood rings, buttons, stones, arts and crafts for the kids, jewelry, camping gear, used DVDs, and a giant used book section on the second floor. We bought a peppermint patty made in house and it tasted overwhelmingly of peppermint oil instead of being sweet. The saleswoman was very nice, but this place had obviously seen better days. They town of Phoenicia is a hidden gem in the Catskills and this store is the quintessential country store. They have fun and practical things and the staff are friendly and helpful when you want them to be, and let you browse uninterrupted if that's what you're in the mood to do.
