We started in Dresden as what we read was that it is mostly uphill to Penn Yan so it's better to go that direction. That was very true. We biked the whole path with our 10 year old son and while he made it, it...More

A pleasant trail to ride that is mostly flat with just a few moderate grades. Trail parallels the Keuka Lake outlet flowing towards Seneca Lake. Trail surface is paved within Penn Yan but changes to crushed limestone / packed earth shortly after leaving town -...More

Nice hilly drive near the stream. Also has a walking/biking trail closer to the stream with the ruins of some mills, etc.

We have a 3 year old and needed an easy hike to a waterfall. Well, this was perfect. We entered at the Seneca mill parking area and hiked less 1/2 mile on a nice gravel path to the waterfall. You could bring a stroller. Beautiful...More

Just walked the short distance from the Seneca Mills parking lot to the falls (.3 one way). The trail in this part is level and wide. Very green after heavy rains in June and full of flowering phlox. The waterfall was roaring at the time...More

Enjoyed a morning hike to both falls. Were intrigued by old structures along the way. Very well maintained, benches were placed for the best views and path was level. If I lived closer, I would walk this daily..... even in April with very little vegetation...More

Breathtakingly beautiful. We enjoyed a hike from Penn Yan to the falls - Seneca Falls. With the fall foliage, it truly was a magical experience!

Hi Nicole. No, there is no swimming in the falls. You can swim in the lake, though! Kind regards, John

Parts of the trail are paved but much is dirt or gravel. I'd stick with mountain bike or hybrid.

You can fish along the Outlet Trail with a valid NYS Fishing Lucense. It's not used for boats. If you want to fish from a boat, you can do so on either one of the lakes connected by the Outlet Trail (Keuka and Seneca).
