I visited multiple wineries along Seneca Lake and this experience was amongst my favorites. I booked ahead online with no issues. They have a set up where a person stands across from you with plexiglass in between, and they wear a mask while pouring and explaining each wine you are tasting. Every wine I tasted was wonderful and I happily left with a couple of bottles in hand. Very impressed with how they are handling pandemic tastings. Highly recommend!

Red Tail Ridge was recommended for us to check out by an excellent staff member from a neighboring vineyard...his recommendations had been stellar thus far so we were looking forward to the experience.
The tasting room is small (it appears that a new space is under early construction?? The view of the lake would be great from this vantage point) and sits back off of the road but amongst the vineyards - really nice. It was just after 10am and when we walked in, there was one other couple doing a tasting. We were asked if we had a reservation and we did not (this is also part of the info that is featured on a large board when you walk in.) I'm thinking that not they wish to make their tastings more personal thus the requirement but the young lady that was there could have easily handled us but not to be.
We ended up selecting just one wine each that we wanted to try and headed outside to their garden area. Both ( a dry rose and a white called "Good Karma") were very good. We bought a bottle of GK and headed out...
We respect the desire to have reservations - if that's your policy, we totally get it. Only reason I gave 4 stars. Definitely worth a stop though...

My husband and I made a tasting reservation for an early Thursday afternoon and this was by far one of our favorites. The winery features a brand new tasting room with beautiful woodwork and a clean, modern design that matches the high caliber of their wines. We were thrilled to see a place focusing more on dry styles with varietals that you don’t typically see much of in the Finger Lakes. The 2020 Lagrein and the Sparkling Rebel with a Cause were my front runners, and my husband fell in love with the 2020 Teroldego and the 2019 Pinot Noir. I’m also a huge fan of sparkling wines and their selection in that category is one of the largest I’ve seen in the area - all that we tried were excellent. Our tasting guide was attentive, knowledgeable, and made lovely conversation with us throughout. After our tasting was through and we loaded up on bottles we wanted to take home, we each purchased a glass of wine to enjoy outside with our pups in their peaceful pavilion overlooking the lake and vineyard. We’ll be back again for sure!

This was one of our pre-selected choice on a winery trip and the most disappointing. The drive way to reach the tasting room was a long dirt road that was not well kept. This is a small, family owned vineyard and winery however the gentleman who was serving the tastings was not a family member. He was less than polite and a bit aloof. I enjoy wine and while my knowledge is limited compared to those in the business, I know enough to appreciate the craft and most wines. I was insulted by his condescending tone. The tasting room is very small and we were the only two there. A couple arrived as we were finishing. It was clear this gentleman could not handle more than two or three customers at one time. Sorry to say this was the only winery where we did not make a purchase. With all the wineries available to visit, don't waste your time with this stop.

We stopped by for a tasting. This winery is the best manicured vineyard I have ever seen with the vines pruned and shaped perfectly. We had Jenna for our hostess and she poured us 5 great white wines. Although we are red wine drinkers, all the wines were tasty. Jenna was a great hostess and we left very satisfied with our experience.

Our first stop in the Finger Lakes region, Red Tail Ridge did not disappoint! They have a wide selection of wines in varied styles, a wonderful tasting room with views of the vineyards and lake, and Kristin was knowledgeable while keeping the tasting fun. I was particularly impressed with their Riesling Pet Nat - very clean and focused, not a trace of that common natty "funk". Fun swag, too, and reasonable prices for the quality. Definitely worth of a visit!

It was our first time visiting Red Tail Ridge Winery. We booked ahead and were greeted at the door. It was a lovely tasting. I really felt like we got to experience the wines and did not feel rushed. We learned so much from our tasting host (cannot remember his name.) He was so knowledgeable and really knew the wines well. The wines are very good and the entire experience was delightful!
I feel so privileged to live in the Finger Lakes and have these amazing wine experiences in our neighborhood.

Late afternoon wine tasting (seems most close at 5 pm) with Shomari. Four wines $15.00. By the glass tasting with good explanation of terroir, weather, and wine notes. Recommend arranging an appointment. Bought wines and a very cool hoodie. This winery was included in a Smithsonian Associates wine tasting.

If you have moved beyond the “I’m just here to get drunk” phase of wine tasting and want to experience quality wines, this place is for you. Reservations are strongly recommended. We had a late afternoon tasting and the staff person spent half an hour with us doing a guided tasting. For $15/person, it was money well spent. The pours aren’t large, but the wines are so good you’ll leave with at least a bottle. This was by far the best wine we had around Lake Seneca.

Small, cozy tasting room with new big expansion to open soon. Loved the wine and Erin was so knowledgeable, welcoming and pleasant! Strongly recommend. Dog friendly too.
