This is a treasure of a dairy farm here on Long Island. Now I grew up with family dairies here on Long Island and the milk cannot be compared. Catapanos specializes in goat milk products in a traditional but modern-day dairy farm setting. THIS IS NOT A PETTING ZOO. You can't buy feed or give them a bottle. The kids however, do enjoy an occasional clover or dandelion and love an ear scratch.
My 11 year old became the goat whisperer. Be one with the goats young Jedi.
We purchased 2 goat soap and three 4 oz containers of goat cheese. Pricing is not for the faint of heart but... this is the real deal. The soaps are luxurious and beautifully scented, I purchased Rose Petals and the Honey Oatmeal.
The cheeses are luscious. I purchased three Chevre: Three Herb, Peach and Mango Jalapeño. Each delicious with the perfect tang and spreadability..
They also offer farm made sheep's milk cheeses as well as whole milk ricotta.

The kids in the pen lounging about, butting heads and climbing on the boat, well that was the best bonus of all.
If you are out in Southold stop by Catapanos. It will not disappoint.

What a great place..........They are so friendly here and the farm is spotlessly clean!
The best part of the day is at 4pm when they milk the goats it is a great activity for children and adults alike.

My friend and I traveled almost 2 hours to see the goat farm. When we got there we were told there is no bathroom on their farm for the public.we had to drive down the road to the gas station. We drove back to the farm and enjoyed seeing the goats and chickens. I bought some cheese and we watched the goat s get milked. Why couldn’t there have been. A outhouse at least.i actually had ordered 200.00 of their products on line. It is beautiful in this town with lots of winery’s and. Farms.

Not much to do here unless you like looking at goats weren’t any active tours
They have a small shop that sells its cheese
I found the price a bit high small piece of cheese perhaps if the portions were larger I would return. Cheese is very good though
I was hoping for more

We stopped at the farm to see the goats and brought some of their home made goat cheese spreads.
That are very creamy and there are some great mixes
My favorite is the fig spread.

Lots of people visit here with their young kids. It is a cute stop, as the baby goats are running around their own, dedicated play scape. Since our kids are grown, that was not our agenda. We came just to taste and buy cheese. It is delicious and worth a stop.

A beautiful summer day finds you surrounded by flowers and goats! Catapano Dairy is very welcoming of families with young children. Our
Two year old granddaughter had to be coaxed away as she was having so much fun petting the friendly goats. The gift shop has an assortment of soaps, creams and facial products with goats’s milk. The mango soap is especially fragrant! Be aware that they do not have any bathroom families. 4:00 PM is milking time.

delicious goat cheese and fresh farm eggs. It is great to see all the animals they have there. If you go later in the afternoon you may actually get to see them milk the goat. Definitely a great stop.

As we were heading out to some of LI wineries we came across this cute little goat farm and decided to stop. There was going to be a tour we could join in on but we would have to wait a while which we didn't want to do. We looked around a little and got some amazing goat cheese. I wish I would have had a cooler! I think if I were to be out in that area in the future, I'd call ahead about tours and their times as I think it'd be pretty interesting. It is worth the stop for the cheese though and to see the cute little goats.
Bring a cooler though as the cheese is so fresh and creamy, you'll want to take some home.

Nice little goat farm. The kids can pet the goats and then you can go into their small shop to purchase soaps and different types of cheese.
