This is a treasure of a dairy farm here on Long Island. Now I grew up with family dairies here on Long Island and the milk cannot be compared. Catapanos specializes in goat milk products in a traditional but modern-day dairy farm setting. THIS IS NOT A PETTING ZOO. You can't buy feed or give them a bottle. The kids however, do enjoy an occasional clover or dandelion and love an ear scratch.
My 11 year old became the goat whisperer. Be one with the goats young Jedi.
We purchased 2 goat soap and three 4 oz containers of goat cheese. Pricing is not for the faint of heart but... this is the real deal. The soaps are luxurious and beautifully scented, I purchased Rose Petals and the Honey Oatmeal.
The cheeses are luscious. I purchased three Chevre: Three Herb, Peach and Mango Jalapeño. Each delicious with the perfect tang and spreadability..
They also offer farm made sheep's milk cheeses as well as whole milk ricotta.

The kids in the pen lounging about, butting heads and climbing on the boat, well that was the best bonus of all.
If you are out in Southold stop by Catapanos. It will not disappoint.

Lots of people visit here with their young kids. It is a cute stop, as the baby goats are running around their own, dedicated play scape. Since our kids are grown, that was not our agenda. We came just to taste and buy cheese. It is delicious and worth a stop.

delicious goat cheese and fresh farm eggs. It is great to see all the animals they have there. If you go later in the afternoon you may actually get to see them milk the goat. Definitely a great stop.

This was a cute stop off of Route 48. The tasting room is not much more than a shed, but very clean and nicely done. They had insulated bags with ice packs available for purchase to carry your cheese purchases. The goats were adorable as well as chickens. A quick uncrowded stop along the wine tasting trail!

This place will always be special to us, because it’s where we got engaged! As a big fan of goats, it was the perfect place for the proposal.

Debbie was amazing — she helped my fiancé with the logistics, found a goat to meet us, and was endlessly patient and accommodating with the plan.

A great little farm that serves up delicious Goat cheese in a few flavors . All good. A nice variety of goat milk products. Nice hand cream. A little pricey but it's nice to go to the source.

The goats are right there and so is the cheese. You can tour the cheese making facility located right there on the farm. The cheese is delicious

We stopped at the farm to see the goats and brought some of their home made goat cheese spreads.
That are very creamy and there are some great mixes
My favorite is the fig spread.

We were driving home from Green Port, actually in search of fresh eggs when I veered off the road because of their sign. The goats were adorable and the cheese is delicious.it is expensive! 10 dollars for a small portion. They milk the goats at 4 pm , but I was not there to see that,

Great place to stop when out on the North Fork of the Island. You can watch the goats being milked, sample fresh goat and sheep cheese, and pet the baby goats. Very knowledgeable staff will talk to you about the making of the cheese. Delicious cheeses and body care products for sampling and purchase.
