Great way to visit a few wineries especially if you like being on the water. Captain DD made the trip so much fun!!!! He was high energy, funny and shared valuable information about the area and the wineries. A great group of people were on our boat. The wineries were good but unfortunately we were only able to visit two by boat but were given the opportunity to visit a third winery after we returned to the dock.
Why drive yourself to the wineries when you can take a boat.

The six of us booked our wine tour with Water To Wine for a weekend destined to be rainy. Captain Mike called and spoke with us the day before and morning of to adjust the plan in the hopes of avoiding torrential downpours. Unfortunately we still got soaking wet, but Captain Mike laughed with us, provided some umbrellas and we still had a fantastic time! Thankful for Thirsty Owl's large selection of dry clothes available for purchase!

We went on this cruise last Saturday. Captain Double D is very energetic and really adds to the whole trip. He gave us insight to the wineries, history of the region and even restaurant suggestions. The wineries were very nice with beautiful views. We got lucky with the weather being sunny and in the 70’s. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

We were on vacation so we had a good time, however was hoping for a little more. We ended up going to one winery on our 5 hour boat ride. Our first stop was at the Aurora Inn, nice place but not a winery and they were not prepared for the entire boat. We were just 2, but we had a total of 14 on the boat. There was a delay getting seated and we asked why and they said they only had 2 servers and could not handle all 14 of us. Lunch was good but it was not a winery stop.
Our next stop was Long Point winery, the captain called the winery after we arrived and they sent down two mini-vans. They could not hold all 14 so some had to stay behind and be taken to the winery on the next trip (They missed some of the tasting). Long Point winery itself was very nice and we had a great experience, everybody was very nice.
When we returned to the boat the captain informed us that was our last stop of the day because it was too windy, yes it was windy but we still returned to the dock at 4pm, so I am not sure they ever planned to make a third stop. We did get to try two pre-selected wines from Hosmer Winery. Also some of the people got pretty wet on the way back, so be prepared if you go on a windy day.
When we got off the boat we were given coupons for a free tasting at Hosmer Winery and Thirsty Owl, but they closed at 5 so we had less then an hour to get to both wineries and do the tastings. We were able to get to both but I don't think others from the boat made it to both wineries. We were the last couple allowed to do tastings, a couple walked in behind us and they were turned away. Hosmer tasting was just okay would not go back, Thirsty Owl was great loved the tasting experience.
So yes, we received 3 tastings, but only visited one winery. It was okay but was expecting 3 wineries or at least 2. On a side note, we tried to book Monday but was told we were the only 2 so the boat would probably not go out, we were asked if we could go Tuesday and then we were with a group of 14 and the stops could not handle the 14 of us.

Overall, our water to wine tour was disappointing. Captain Mike was very responsive and helpful during the planning of our private wine tour. However, when we arrived, wet met Captain DD who really ruined the experience for us. Captain DD was rude and incredibly disrespectful to all members of our group. He was promoting controversial behaviour, answered our questions with disdain, and prioritized himself over our entire group. He ate our food without asking. The wine tour was also expensive for what it was. Will likely not book with Water to Wine tours again nor recommend it to others.

My husband and I enjoyed our Water to Wine tour. Our captain, Mike, was very nice and the boat very comfortable. Beautiful view! We enjoyed the three wineries we visited, but we wish the schedule could be adjusted for a 4th winery to be included. Furthermore, we think lunch (or perhaps at least a discount) should be included for the price. But overall a very enjoyable experience and fun way to enjoy some wineries. Thank you!

We did this tour five years ago with this company and had a ball. The facilities visited were great, our captain was informative and talkative. Nothing was the same this time in 2021. Of the three wineries, only one was really good in terms of cleanliness and service. One was mediocre (and it is closing this month) and one was filthy and not good at all. Our captain this time was more like a taxi driver...we had to pry information out of him about the lakes and the vineyards and he was about as interested in talking to us as talking to a fish. We were extremely disappointed this time and wished we had gone with a different guide/boat to different wineries. Overall not worth the cost or the drive to the dock. We tipped our captain only out of courtesy, certainly not because he was at all professional or pleasant. In fact, when we did ask him questions, he was a bit of a smart aleck. I do not recommend this group any more, sadly.

Very nice tour, traveled to a couple of wineries by boat on a beautiful day. Lunch at Long Point winery was delicious and fresh. Cap’t double D shared some stories and info about area. Visited smaller wineries on Cayuga Lake, very different than the big ones in Seneca.

Skip the owner saved the day by driving us on land due to the bad weather. He was very accommodating and made sure we got around to all the wineries safely. He did whatever he could to ensure we still had a great day. Thank you for turning an unfortunate weather situation out of our control into a great time!

We enjoyed our day visiting the Thirsty Owl and Long Point vineyards on Cayuga lake. Our captain, Dennis, was very knowledgeable and entertaining! The Thirsty Owl bistro was an excellent choice for lunch and both vineyards were very good. We highly recommend this tour!

This is a seasonal business and they may have closed for the winter already. I recommend checking the website for the most up to date info. Look for wine limo on Cayuga Lake
