Thank you so much for reviewing View! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. We have 6 exhibitions on display now, so there is great variety in subject, and medium. View surprises people who come for the first time, as we celebrate the work of living artists (local and national). One visitor referred to View as a "slice of SoHo in... More

I would be oh, so much more interested and impressed if they spent more time showcasing local artists and Adirondack crafts and heritage. I have been here on different occasions, so will give them some credit for the annual watercolour and the annual quilt shows... but most of the exhibits do NOT represent Adirondack heritage or culture. Seriously: do you... More

View's mission is to enrich, educate and inspire residents and visitors to the Adirondacks. It is not a museum, but rather a series of beautiful galleries that feature the work of living artists. At any one time, there are as many as 6 exhibits on display, featuring diverse media and subject matter. View does not feature Adirondack art exclusively. One... More

I come up to the View every Fall to see the National Watercolor Show. Every year it's terrific. The range of talented artists that have won awards and the ones that did not are amazing.

Since the move into their larger facility, this art museum has upped their game considerably. Most enjoyable way to spend an hour or 2, especially on a rainy day.

We stopped at the View for the National Exhibition of American Watercolors and really enjoyed the exhibit. We also enjoyed the 606 Birdhouse exhibit - very imaginative and fun! The arts center has different exhibits throughout the year and is worth a visit no matter when you are in town. They offer a variety of workshops and events so it's... More

The View seems to have the pulse of the area with some very fine local artists, photographers, crafts persons work on display. It seemed to be more of a community family place than a museum but it certainly adds a charm to the town of Old Forge

This place is beautiful and a recent curated exhibit of bird-related paintings (mostly) was very well done. I attended a workshop there and would definitely go back. The staff and members are all very friendly, the facility is top notch.

You cannot believe you are far away from Chicago or NYC. The various and ever changing shows of art work in various medium are sights to behold. Many classes in various medium are offered throughout the year. First rate performances to delight everyone's taste are also offered throughout the year. Come to view the View!
