We were referred to Iliana from our hotel concierge who was confident that this would be the best wine tour in Santorini. I think she was right. We had a wonderful time, a tour of three wineries learning about all the different wines and the unique method of growing grapes in this unique volcanic environment. This was truly a delight and would recommend it to anybody.

Iliana made our wine tour amazing! She was prompt during our correspondence before our trip and was able to accommodate our schedule. The wineries were excellent with great choices of wine to taste and purchase. Her background in wine is extensive which made the trip that much more interesting and fun. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing wine tour with Iliana. We visited a great variety of wineries and tasted a range of different wines. Iliana’s knowledge was amazing and it was great to hear the stories behind the wine. We know much more about the history and traditions of Santorini wine now and have a greater appreciation for the effort, care and innovation that goes into producing the wine. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic winery tour with Iliana. Her knowledge of the cultivation, history, and wines of Santorini was terrific. We learned so much and enjoyed her company. The wineries she chose offered great contrast in styles of wine as well as scenery. I cannot recommend her tour enough.

What a perfect ending to our Cyclades vacation. Iliana was very sweet, informative and professional. We loved learning about what made Greek wine making unique and especially loved the two wineries she brought us to, one more beautiful than the last. Everything we ate and drank was delicious, not to mention scenic! Thank you.

We booked this tour to save travelling to the vineyards ourselves and were completely overwhelmed at how fantastic it was. Iliana picked us up in her car and 4 of us had a private tour of 3 amazing vineyards whilst also seeing more of Santorini. The 3 vineyards were all so different yet all unique. Iliana was really lovely and very knowledgeable. The 4 hour trip was so relaxing and interesting. We booked the late afternoon tour and were lucky enough to watch the sunset at our last vineyard. Beautiful food and wine & a truly excellent tour with Iliana. Definitely not to be missed.

The wine tour was fantastic. Iliana was excellent and knew so much about each winery and their wines. Each winery had something different to offer. Our first stop was a vineyard where we were shown how wine in Santorini is grown. Instead of growing upwards like most grape vines they are grown in a circular basket formation. This allows for the grapes to be protected from sun and wind. Next we visited Gaia Winery. It was amazing. We sat right in from of Kamari Beach, which is covered in black sand. We were able to watch the waves crash on the shoreline as it was a windy day. They gave us a nice cheese and snack plate as well. The wines were good too. Next was Estate Argyros. This is more of a traditional Greek winery. It was set in the shadows of the highest peak in Santorini in a tiny town. The wines were kind of harsh like the environment around it, but traditional Greek flavors, which we appreciated. Our final stop was Venetsanos Winery. Venetsanos was situated on the cliffs overlooking the caldera. The scenery was absolutely spectacular. We were able to see Oia off in the distance. The wines were decent and the cheese/bread plate was good as well with tomato paste and salami also included. Overall, this was an amazing day

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have this 3 winery tour recommended to us by our concierge. Iliana picked us up at our hotel and took us on a tour of 3 wineries with an incredible amount of information shared throughout on the wines, vineyards, history of not just the wine production on the island but the island itself and people of the island.
We got the best tables at each winery (Gavalos, Gaia and Sigalas) and received tastings of at least 4 wines at each stop. Gaia was our favorite due to its setting and wines.
It was so wonderful to get a better understanding of each wine and the people behind each wine. This was so much better than going on our own and trying to understand the wines by reading about them. She shared so much of the backstory on each it actually made us appreciate the wines that much more.
We highly recommend a half day with Iliana if you want to really learn about Santorini and its wine culture.

My husband and I were on this wine tour with one other couple and Iliana, the guide. The tour started at Gaia, a winery on the beach (and my favorite of them all). We went to two other vineyards and had delicious snacks at all of them, especially the Greek Salad with Santorini tomatoes...the best of our trip. Iliana is a warm, educated guide and I recommend a tour with her without hesitation!

Iliana was a wonderful tour guide and we would recommend going on any of the tours she offers. My wife and I did the archaeological site tour which included a visit to two wineries. Iliana is so friendly and knowledgeable about everything related to wine, Santorini and Greece. We had an amazing time, learned so much and she was so much fun to talk to. When Iliana took us to the wineries, she guided us through the tasting, which included delicious food that paired well with the wine. She knew the wineries and their staff so well and is clearly well respected in the Santorini wine culture. It was great to have her all to ourselves, and to support her in continuing to provide quality tours to others in the future. It was an amazing tour and we would highly recommend it.

Sounds great---what is the cost for 2 people and how long would the tour be--starting at what time and ending at what time?

Hi Pam,
Thanks for getting back to me. The tour lasts roughly 6 hours. The Royal Princess docks at 7a.m., so you'll be at the exit of the cable car up to Fira at 8-8.15'. We'll meet there. At the end of the tour, I'll drop you off at Fira town, so you'll have the time to explore the "capital" of Santorini too.
My policy is not giving prices for the private and tailor made tours online. Please contact me by sending an email.

We would love to do a wine tour combined with seeing the area also--there are just 2 of us--we arrive on Sun. Aug. 28 in Santorini on the Royal Princess cruiseship. Do you do private tours or could we join a small group for a tour? What is the charge. We are in port at 7am and have until 10pm that evening.

I think that the Santorini Explorer tour is the ideal for you. Since you arrive very early in the morning, it will be a private tour.
We'll drive all around the island and we'll visit a vineyard and 2 wineries. You will taste all the major types of terroir-driven wines of Santorini and then you will enjoy a meal with local recipes with wine at one of the wineries and a Cycladic cheese and wine pairing.
