We are a family company that specializes in guided private tours / shore excursions for groups. We also offer private transfer services and transfers for weddings and receptions in Santorini. For our tours and transfers we only use new luxurious mini vans with air conditioning and Wi-Fi and we pick you up and drop you off at the location of your choice. Our tours can be adapted to your personal interests and preferences and our experienced hosts will accompany you during the whole tour.

We liked the services so much that we used Karavas Travel on two different days. On both occasions, the tour was customized to our requests and priced very fairly. Our guide went the extra mile and beyond, offering freebies and gifts, giving us insider tips, telling us local stories with refreshing honesty. Even when we were undecided or making changes last minute, nothing was too difficult for them, and there was always a good idea, like a special sunset spot or a great winery. Also, do book them as your airport transfer: on arrival, I had bad experiences with another company (see another review) chosen by my hotel and the contrast with Karavas Travel could not have been starker.

What a great finish to the trip

We dropped into the Karavas office on Monday to see if we could arrange a private tour for our last day on the Saturday as we had an evening flight. We met Sami who was full of great ideas for where to go and quickly arranged everything.

Sami joined us as a guide. She joined us where it was sensible and was very knowledgeable. Thanos was our super driver.

We visited Akrotiri (entrance fee was separate from tour as was made very clear when booked), Megalochori, Profitas Ilias, Pyrgos and finally the Santorini Wine Museum.

It was 6 hours with us determining stop duration. Amazing value for €140.

Amazing tour

We had an faboulous 3-day tour covering all the major sights and places to visit in Santorini.

This included a visit to a fantastic wine museum, the pre-historic Akrotiri city, Akrotiri Lighthouse, Imerovigli, Firostefani, Fira, Oia, Pyrkos, Megalchori and a visit to a local farm.

Dina, our tour guide, was excellent throughout and ensured we could progress at our own pace while providing us with a wealth of knowledge about the city and each location visited. The visits to the local villages were especially unique.

The tour felt personalised and very well organised. Highly recommended for anyone who really wants to understand and enjoy the city.

Best driving service in Santorini

I hired drivers through this group and they have been great to work with. Responsive to inquiries, the driver arrives early, he was engaging and informative. The rates are competitive and the company also offers/coordinates tours around the island, boat excursions, etc.
I would be happy to work with them again!

Best Accessible tour ever!

An absolute highlight of our seventeen-day cruise from Rome to Istanbul was our visit to Santorini thanks to Karavas Travel. My wife had polio when she was young and uses a wheelchair and crutches. After seeing pictures of Santorini for years we thought it was cliffs and hills and not accessible- WE WERE WRONG!! We booked an accessible Santorini tour for our party of four with Karavas Travel and it far exceeded any expectations. Dina assisted us from start to finish explaining the tram system and introduced us to Thomas our tour guide/driver and “do everything” person. We booked the four-hour tour but added on two hours because there was so much to see and visit. This was not a windshield tour! Oia was amazing as we walked around the area, followed by scenic stops and walks overlooking the sea in several directions. We had a great lunch at the Black Beach and then off to the monastery on the top of Santorini, and then the Old Town and a drink. Wonderful tour thanks to Karavas!! Worth every penny or Éuro!!

Karavas Travel is excellent!
We visited Santorini in August 2023, and found their office while walking from the cable car to the main street. We booked a round trip to Oia, and the car picked us up in less than 10 minutes. Our tour guide Evanghelo was absolutely wonderful. He made a few stops along the way to highlight the best view points and to give us the history of the area. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant, and he gave us great advice on how to make the most of our one day in Santorini. We did not miss a thing! Thank you Karavas Travel and Evangelo for a memorable experience!

Absolutely wonderful tour for mobility scooters!

My parents use mobility scooters, and they figured there was no way they'd be able to visit Santorini. So we were thrilled when we found Santorini Karavas Travel, who offers an accessible tour. Dina was great to work with when I booked the trip, and our guide, Tomas, was an absolute STAR! He was patient and considerate with my family's special needs, and very knowledgeable about the island. We learned a lot from him! He took us to Oia and Akrotiri (the archaeological site), both of which were fairly accessible for someone in a mobility scooter (although Oia would be less conducive to a wheelchair because of the stairs down into each shop.) Dina also arranged for a special tour guide for Akrotiri, and she was also fantastic and full of great information about the history and culture of the site.

We are so grateful that we were able to experience Santorini as a family, thanks to Dina and her amazing team. Thank you for a day to remember!

Thank you Karavas Travel for making our one day in Santorini so memorable! Dina was a pleasure to work with in coordinating our private tour, and Christian, our guide and driver, knew just the right spots to show us the most spectacular views! He was so thoughtful and kind, and an excellent driver! We had the most amazing day!

Great people and great tour

On a cruise and all the tours got cancelled. Dropped on Santorini with no idea and were saved by this family operated business. Organised a tour of the island for us with a wonderful driver (Tomas) who shared his excellent knowledge as we went around. Three hours of absolute highlights.
They were all so nice....maybe because she was born in Australia LOL!!!!
It also saved us a lot of money as it was much cheaper than the cruise.
My tip.....if you visiting Santorini don’t bother with anything else. Just contact them and see what they can do for you. I promise that you won’t regret it.

Our day in Santorini

Last port of call: Santorini day visit. We wanted to simply lay on the beach our last day of our 7 day cruise. What we didn’t know was there were 4 ships that docked. We waited until late afternoon to leave the ship and found this place that would oblige us by taking us to the nearest beach. Our driver (a wonderful gentleman) took the two of us to Kamira beach. It was a quick and comfortable ride and he waited for us while we took as long as we needed to soak in the atmosphere. It was worth every penny to me.
