Our semi-private day tour of Santorini with Blue Shades of Greece, recommended by our hotel, Astra Suites, was the best tour we have had in all our travels! We were a group of seven ( maximum number) spending the entire day together.
While the locations we visited were wonderful, the highlight was truly our guide, Billy! Billy is the friendliest, cheeriest guide who gave us the most incredible day, one we will never forget! He loves his job and his joy of sharing Santorini with those who want to learn about the island, the history and its people. Every moment with Billy was a true joy!
The tour lasts approximately 7 hours, pickup and dropoff at our hotel. Main attractions included: visit to Pyrgos village / visit to Megalochori village / 1 hr stop at Akrotiri excavation / drives through Vlychada Beach and Perivolos black beach / wine tasting and food pairing at winery ( 1 .5 hrs) / walking visit to Oia.
It's a wonderful way to see so much of the island, you are traveling from end to end of Santorini which gives an amazing perspective while learning so much at the same time.
You can also arrange your own custom tour of sightseeing and they will work with you to arrange a tailor-made tour.
We cannot recommend Blue Shades of Greece highly enough, and this tour. But Billy made our day a wonderful experience and we feel we have made a new friend for life. Thank you to Lefty and Billy, and we hope to return to see you again!

Our private 4 hour tour with Zak was the absolute highlight of our Santori vacation. We went to 4 of the most popular villages where Zak walked us around and gave us excellent commentary and history details on everything we were seeing. His English was excellent and we just had a fantastic day with him and learned so much about what we were seeing. I highly recommend this place if you want a private or semi-private tour of the island!

Leftheros was a wonderful guide. he was so informative but it never felt boring. Fantastic personality and he always followed Covid protocols. He speaks perfect English if you don't know any Greek. We were lucky to be in Santorini during a time where no one was yet visiting so we had a unique and memorable experiences. We felt like we saw all parts of the island i the amount of time we'd like to have spent in those places and were back in 6 hours to enjoy our hotel. I would definitely take one of his tours again.

Our tour guide, Lefti, was awesome! We saw 3 incredible wineries, and even stopped at a local brewery for a few tastes. He was a wealth of knowledge and is very friendly. You’re taken care of the whole time!

I would highly recommend Blue Shades of Greece. Lefteris was our tour guide, and he was just superb from start to finish. Extra points, too, since he is also our driver! He basically "sold" Santorini to us - by making sure we knew about the history of the sights and answering questions. There were even times when he would say kalimera to some of the folks on the way, which is great so we know we're not getting lost! He took our family pictures, and went above and beyond by using the panoramic feature of the iPhone - very nicely done. He gave us great recommendations for lunch and tips on how to shop for souvenirs as well. Part of the tour was the wine tasting - and the view at Venetsanos Winery is worth visiting! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. We visited Akrotiri, which is a dream come true for me, since I only see it in history books. It's great to see it up close. Lefteris had a lot of words of wisdom during the trip, but the most memorable one to me was when we were taking pictures - "we have the best camera in front of us, our eyes, and the best memory card - our minds!" Thank you. If we ever go back to Santorini, I want another tour from Blue Shades of Greece - they're that good!

Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to us and personally me that you enjoyed your time with Blue Shades. We want our guest, when they visit the island, to get a small beautiful piece of it in their heart and keep it as an unforgetable memory. We give a piece of our selfs too so people can truly feel, that they have a friend on the island that he is just showing them his home. We wish you the best in your life. Its a small world we live in, and hopefully we will meet again. My warm regards.

This tour exceeded our expectations immensely! The tour guide, Billie, was warm, personable, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. Without his attention to detail, we would have missed the nuances of Pyrgos, the cave room, a perfect winery, Oia and so much more. We aren't usually 'tour' people, but can't say enough positive things about this tour. If you do one tour in Santorini, this is it! Say hi to Billie for us!

We had a great time with Zack as our Guide. We toured in a minibus with two other couples . It was our first time to Santorini and we were able to appreciate the highlights as well as excellent wine tasting for lunch. Zack was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions. He also gave us three excellent food recommendations for our stay in Oia . I would recommend this tour to someone who hasn’t been to Santorini .

While on our honeymoon, Lefteris immediately made my wife and I feel like friends that he'd spent the last week with! He was so easy to communicate with, spoke perfect english, and was both professional yet very fun. We had an incredible time as he drove us around the island dropping knowledge on us about history of Fira and wine...he knew so much about the history of the island (so it was way more than just a wine tour!) After several hours with him, he knew us well enough to give us the most incredible recommendation for dinner that night that was possibly our best evening in Greece. Lefteris went above and beyond with his customer service and we didn't want to leave him! We would highly recommend Blue Shades of Greece to any traveler!

Thank you for you lovely and kind words. Santorini for some of us is not just a place of work, it feels more as a home, so we enjoy sharing the knowledge of the history of it and make it fun at the same time. Hopefully we can see you again in the future.

Two and a half years of planning our return to Santorini…….bookings and cancellations over and over….. All dealt with the utmost respect, patience and professionalism by Lefteris Karipidis of Blue Shades of Greece. We booked a Private Custom Six Hour island tour and could not have been happier. We have been to Santorini several times and had already seen much of the island so this custom tour was the way to go. Everything arranged perfectly ahead of time so very few formalities to take care of when we started. We arrived to meet our driver and were thrilled to see that it was Spiros- the fun, likable, smiling, professional gentleman who had picked us up the day before at the airport :) and even got to meet Leftheris who had come to say Hi. Spiros is a gem. He is filled with stories, history, anecdotes and charm and most importantly he is a darn good driver. Anyone who has ever been to Santorini knows the winding narrow corkscrew roads that need to be maneuvered, he handled it all perfectly. He had our itinerary for the day but before we got started on that he had “a little surprise”- we made an unscheduled stop at the Lost Atlantis Experience. This is an interactive museum that you can not miss. Just take my word for it. We visited the village of Akrotiri and wandered its streets, traveled to the Lighthouse - breathtaking. We went to Profitis Ilias monastery and were blessed to be able to light a candle for a very dear friend. Off to Hazidakis VIneyards and then to Domaine Sigalas for wine tasting with the most delicious of food pairings. The village of Oia was not on my list of must sees as we have been there before and had planned to hike in the next fews days to Ammoudi Bay for lunch, but Spiros said “trust me, I know a spot” and he sure did. We got the most beautiful view of a quiet, uncrowded spot in Oia. It was a gift. Our day passed far too quickly, our goodbyes were said and it is a day we will treasure for a very long time. Do NOT hesitate to book with Blue Shades of Greece- you will not be disappointed.

Thank you from the bottom of our heart for your wonderful and kind words. Its always a pleasure for us people returning back on the island. That means they love it as much as we do. We always meet as strangers but we leave as friends and that's the best reward that anyone could ask. :)
