Rocky and scenic beach at a rundown village. Only one restaurant that offers sunbeds for lunch guests. Others have to sit on rocks. The other houses are deserted. Steep but safe walk downhill. The swimming was nice though.

This is a cute small bay. Though it doesn't have much to do at the bottom (only a single tavern with limited opening hours), it has a great scenic views of the Aegean Sea while you are going down.
One important tip: Don't take the donkeys up or down the trail. First, they are very dangerous (someone died in 2015 when a donkey fell on her) and other get injured quite regularly when the donkeys slip and fall.
Further, the owners of the donkeys don't treat the animals well. I'm no super animal-rights vegan, but I believe in treating animals right. And these people (even according to locals) do it for the money and don't take care of their animals like they should. Not only do the donkeys get injured regularly they also have a short life span.
Most donkeys live to the age of 40. These donkeys have a life expectancy of 10 years due to the stress and malnourishment.

Armeni, is a small beach with deep blue water, located a few meters to the south of Amoudi beach.
Access is via boat (from Ammoudi), or take the 300 of so, steps, which begin at the main street of Oia village.
This area was the old port, where tourists arrived and then transferred to Oia by the donkeys.
Expect nice views of the bay and the crystal clear waters of the azure, blue Aegean.
There are a few restaurants on the beach area. Great for swimming!

Beautiful bay coming into Oia. Crystal clear waters and a good look from the north to Santorini. Be prepared for the stairs!

We visited by private charter which was a luxury and wonderful. The bay is beautiful, a great place to swim in many locations and the water is that wonderful Aegean Blue and clear as can be.

We were a bit dubious on the way down, due to the amount of stairs and not too much to see at the bottom. Once we were down there, we were thinking about cliff jumping but it was quite a way to trek to get to the cliff.
We ended up snorkelling a little way away from the main pier. The water is completely crystal clear! So beautiful. I wasn’t excepting much as I had read Santorini wasn’t too great for snorkelling but there were tonnes of fish! Big and small, and lots of colours!
The way back up was very tiring - so only bother to go if you are physically fit. And please please please do NOT take a ride on the donkeys. They are so unfairly treated, we didn’t see them given any water in the 30° heat the whole time we were down there. Completely unnecessary animal cruelty - have a heart and see they are being abused. And if you can’t manage the walk - don’t go!
If you’re expecting a beach you’ll be disappointed, but with the idea that Santorini is a volcanic rock, it’s a nice little adventure.

Very cruel indeed in my opinion! Very steep and slippery steps, 300 of them for the poor mules who have to do this in boiling hot temperatures. Furthermore where they are kept at the bottom has no shade! Authorities need to stop this!

Excellent restaurant, friendly service, and very fresh fish. You have a pick up and a drop off service from Amoudi bay (the main port of Oia) by boat. The food is excellent. There is a small beach to go for a swim afterwards.

Access is by boat or the trail down from Oia, so this is a very tranquil spot. There is a lovely restaurant right on the edge of the water which offers lounge chairs, umbrellas and snorkel equipment. The owner is a great guy with a super personality. We hiked down the mountain and then back up, which wasn't bad and had great views. The restaurant does have free boat service to Ammoudi Port, too.

It's not a huge beach and was very crowded when we visited. The walk there from Ammoudi was very tricky as part of the path had washed away and so we had to clamber over rocks some of which were very sharp.
If oyu are a beach and swimming lover then it's worth a visit and there is a place just off shore that provides an ideal platform to jump off and into the crystal clear waters.
