- frappas2Melbourne, Australia107 contributionsWell worth a visitI’m not a religious person but you cannot help but be in awe of the Greek Orthodox people with regard to their devotion to their faith. This church is very beautiful and ornate, and it is well worth a visit. Light a candle, offer a coin or two and stay a short time to reflect and appreciate.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 1, 2023
- AQUALUNA1Singapore, Singapore971 contributionsBeautiful church at Oia, you won’t miss it if you are at Oia.Surely you will see this church if you come to Oia. Do go early when there is lesser crowd. This is also another famous Instagram place near the 3 blue dome church. Beautiful and peaceful in the morning.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 20, 2023

There are really many beautiful places on this quite overwhelmingly wonderful island, in terms of beauty, but this lovely church really stood out for me, personally and especially on a day with a clear blue sky behind it. Lovely!!!❤ (Correction: Date of experience for my Amoudi Bay review here below should be April 2023 and not March 2023✌)Visited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 11, 2023

The place in front of the church is always overcrowded, because every tour group use the place as a meeting point. All the people traveling by bus to Oia, arrived downstairs of the church. It was very peaceful inside the church and had a choir boy singing. There were also children outside that got to ring the bells before the service. Very pretty both inside and out. It was very busy outside however.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 27, 2024

Located on the main square of Oia, this church with spotless white walls, blue some and a bell tower with six bells is an iconic image of Santorini. The inside of the church is also beautiful. A mass was on when we went in and it was such a peaceful atmosphere inside.

We visited Oia in Santorini on a day trip on a cruise and was stunned at how beautiful it is. We arrived early before the crowds got huge and managed to get some nice time in the square in front of the Church before it got filled up. By the time we left, it was getting very busy so if you can get up early, it's worth doing.

Well worth a stop. OK, it is a pretty sight, it is FREE to go in. Best to go very early as it gets overly crowded as meeting area for tours and families as it is the centre of town and everything sort of heads off in all directions for walking and views.

The Church of Panagia is in downtown Oia. It has a beautiful tiled courtyard square in front of the church building. The blue dome sticks out against the whitewashed building. The square is one of the largest open areas along the walk in Oia. A great place for taking photos.

This is a beautiful large white washed church in the centre of Oia. Unfortunately as we were here for Sunrise it was not open when we got to it. However, it looks in pristine condition from the outside with lovely tiled walkway leading up to it's gate. It has the usual Greek blue dome and Greek flag flying high. Shame we couldn't see inside.
