We love art, history and true tradition away from the commercial touristy sights. So, we paid a visit to Eponymo as part of our scenic walk along the windy paths of Oia, one of the most beautiful villages in the world. A visit to Eponymo gave us an excellent insight into the locally designed handcrafted jewellery and artefacts that combine great design with ancient Greek style. The very friendly shopkeepers live locally and have great stories to tell. They definitely made our shopping experience worth visiting again. Very centrally located too!

Excellent Service with a Smile

Shopping at Eponymo was one more thing I have to talk about my trip to Santorini. The I found nice gifts to bring home and the service was always with a smile. When you get there ask for Periklis or Nia they will "bend over backwards" to make your shopping experience a delight.

Take a piece of Santorini home with you

While walking through the charming streets of Oia, my fiancé and I happened upon Eponymo, an equally charming store set across the picturesque view of the caldera. It was filled with beautifully handcrafted pieces of art, sculptures, ceramics and jewelry. The owner greeted us and was very friendly. He spoke with us about our trip, the island and it's history. He even gave us a great recommendation for dinner (Rocca, which we took him up on and we are glad we did!). We ended up buying a wonderful sculpture, a Classic Greek eye, and of course some jewelry for my fiancé. Prices were very reasonable and we were able to bring a few pieces of Santorini home with us. Can't help but smile and think about our amazing trip every time we look at or wear any of those amazing pieces. I would recommend anyone that finds their way to Oia stop in at Eponymo and see for yourself. You can thank me later :).

Unique jewelry & gifts to match this unique island

Unlike many of the other stores I visited, Eponymo wasn't pushing cheap trinkets & touristy gifts. I loved this store because it was reflective of the beautiful surroundings & culture of the island.

The owners are extremely nice & friendly as well without being pushy. In fact, besides helping me find a beautiful bracelet for my wife that she treasures, they gave us some amazing tips on enjoying the village of Oia & taking in an incredible dinner in Amoudi Bay.

Excellent selection at reasonable prices

The wife wanted to browse the jewelry stores while we were in Oia. We "weren't going to by anything" she said. Here though, we found a very varied selection. They had other items I did not expect to see. We ended up purchasing a painting, a hanging lantern, and some reasonably priced jewelry. The shop owner was friendly and knowledgable. We also got no sales pitch, just a welcome and any questions answered. I wish all businesses were run like this.

Surprising shop
