If you want to escape the masses of Oia....

My recommendation based on what we did and what we wished we'd done in hindsight: If you're the active type and don't mind steps or walking and want to get away from all the day... read more

We visited this little island as part of a tour that incuded also the volcano and the hot springs and sunset over caldera. For me was a disappointment...the travel agency that organized the tour have its part of blame,as long as we arrived on the island around 17:00,when almost all was closed.Only a couple of restaurants and a few tiny stalls... Just walking through Santorini and it's little villages is magical. The place is truly postcard perfect and I can see why everyone who comes here loves it. Volcanic rock is a staple of the island and you'll find many little shops and stores that sell volcanic jewelry, etc. Just walking around the island was my favorite way to spend the... More

As many others I stayed here over lunch hours on a tour and after looking through the different selections me and my partner found a restaurant on the far edge of the beach walk towards the stairs for the village. Had lunch, had ice cream, enjoyed the ocean view and spent some time in the sun before heading back. Nothing... More

When you're getting first time in Santorinj you're already have in your mind the view of the island as it's definitely one of the "business cards" of Greece. Village Oia is my favorite city here. Little cascades houses looks like in a fairytale. Third is a capital. For me it's a place where I have seen the cruise ships on... More

My recommendation based on what we did and what we wished we'd done in hindsight: If you're the active type and don't mind steps or walking and want to get away from all the day trippers in Oia for a half day of near solitude: Take the 12:45 ferry from Ammoudi Bay in Oia. Get off in Corfos (the 2nd... More

We did this as part of volcano, hot springs and Thirasia boat tour. I rate the whole tour two stars. The volcano hike is exactly that, a hike up to see the crater and a nice view of santorini mainland. Let me tell you about the whole tour since that's what you'll most likely be doing. It is very hot... More

Did not go into town but saw it from the port. Looked amazing. There are many steps to get to the top so be fit and ready to climb them. Looks picturesque and has a few little restaurants at the port for those not strong enough to make it to the top. You can pay for a donkey to take... More

We went here as part of a 5hr boat tour and it was one of our favourite parts of our trip to Santorini! Lovely quiet little island with old Greek houses and plenty of areas to get in the sea for a swim. (Just beware if you do go swimming there is a little area with lots of spiky fish... More

Was originally attached to the rest of this little island before the volcanic eruption, what is left behind is this quant island which is a nice part of the volcano boat trip. We went to a lovely restaurant called Tonias. Beautiful views of the Thiran island. A million miles away from the everyday grind we endure!

Great stop for lunch on the boat tour of the volcano out of Fira. Wouldn't go to the trouble of heading up to the town above. Fun to dine along the beach. Scenic.
