- Camdenuser34 contributionsStrongly recommendedWe did the Volcano Diver’s Wine Experience, though it didn’t involve either volcanoes or diving. We had a welcome drink of Greek fizz, a brief but interesting wander into, and chat about, the vineyard (unlike any other vineyard you are likely to see) and then five courses, each with a generous glass of wine. The food was really excellent, the wines first class, and our guide introduced them all. The whole experience was hugely enjoyable.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 9, 2024
- LSQRD1Kent, Ohio898 contributionsGood wine and snacksWe decided to stop in without making a reservation having tried to call earlier in the day. The winery came recommended to us and we fully acknowledged to the staff that we understood if we could not be accommodated. When we arrived there were just a handful of other patrons. The staff were not receptive to us since we did not pre-book and we did not find the person we spoke with to be helpful or understanding. They did agree, eventually, to allow each of us to order a glass of wine. Our waiter was fine and did a good job. After several minutes, someone came over and let us know that now we were clear to order flights and food. We enjoyed the wine and the food. I would definitely make a reservation if you are interested in coming here. My view is that the good food and wine did not fully make up for the strange initial experience and lack of clarity about whether they could or would serve us. If I decide to return someday, I will definitely make a reservation!Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 2, 2024
- amichellea1226 contributionsAmazing, Informative, DeliciousThis was the perfect way to spend 90 min in Santorini! The experience claims “light” dishes paired with wine, however the portions were rather significant. Each one was amazing! Possibly the best food on the island we had.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 12, 2024
- Stephanie S31 contributionsSigalas is amazing!Simply phenomenal .An authentic, charming and special experience. A modern winery, but a small vineyard and curated experience. A sampling of 5 amazing wines (we ended up buying 4 bottles it was that good), and what was described nibbles but was a feast of 5 courses, paired perfectly with each wine..seaweed salad with shrimp and peach puree, fava puree with eel, sea bass ceviche, beef cheeks with potatoes and musaka puree and with baklava with mastica ice cream. The chef is beyond talented. And our host, Elena, was knowledge, kind and clearly loves her job. We left full and happy with a love for Santorini wines and how they are grown and produced on this dessert island of volcanic soil …nature finds a way! Highly recommend!Visited June 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 22, 2024

- Norma H4 contributionsWine and food pairing was good … but not enough wine portions ..The food and wine pairing was amazing.. the wine was good but very little tasting portions. We had a large group of 10 people and only half of bottle was used for all 10 of us for each tasting. We even asked if the rest of the bottle could be left for 10 people. But they said no.. Very little wine for the price .. but the food was delicious and made up for it..Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 3, 2024

- Paola M10 contributionsCharming winery, great foodWe had a lovely experience at Domaine Sigalas. The wine is terrific, prorbably one of the best in Santorini. We tried the volcano experience. - Julie HChicago, Illinois16 contributionsWonderful wines and delicious food in a beautiful setting! Our family of 6 did the Volcano Diver's Wine Experience and found it to be a perfect way to experience Sigalas wines accompanied by gourmet food provided by their chef. While some wine tastings offer "snacks" to pair with the wine, this was a full (very full) meal and it was incredibly delicious. We had a short introduction to the winery while standing in the vineyard (which was plenty for us having visited many wineries before) and then an explanation by a very knowledgeable staff person prior to trying each wine and dish. The wines were full pours and EVERY wine was extremely well made--which we found a bit suprising, since this area isn't well known for wine, especially for it's reds.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 29, 2024
- Elena K50 contributionsDelicious tasting experience! We did the Volcano Diver’s wine experience where we had a tour and wine/food pairing - we had a fantastic time! Margaret guided our experience and did an amazing job - very personable and passionate about the wines and vineyards. Her passion and knowledge shined through. All the pairings were welll-matched and the food was very tasty with high-quality ingredients. For the vineyard tour, know that they will take you out for a short bit in the vineyard to talk a bit about the types of grapes and nuances of growing in Santorini. It’s not shaded so just be mindful of bringing a hat/sunscreen if you’re doing an afternoon tour. But it’s a very brief segment so nothing too onerous. Beautiful vineyard with wonderful wines - would definitely recommend at least dropping in and checking out the Volcano Diver’s wine experience for something special!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 20, 2024

A great experience from arrival to departure. The staff so friendly and happy, and passed on their knowledge about the vines and wine making process. The differences between the wines explained with each food pairing, with each dish so beautifully presented. The taste was equally as good as the presentation, could not fault it in anyway.
A truly memorable afternoon during our holiday and would recommend. It was well worth travelling from Pyrgos ( not far from other well known wineries), Such a shame we had to leave so quickly due to pre booked taxi!!

From start to finish, our experience at Domaine Sigalas was exceptional. Sophia was our guide and she did a phenomenal job informing us about the terroir, the wines, and the food during the tour. She also gave us information and some history of the island itself. We chose the sunset tour where we were given a welcome glass of sparkling wine followed by a 5 course meal each paired with a glass of wine. Our favorite wine was the Mavrotragano. We felt the food was a beautiful expression of the land and each wine was perfectly selected to compliment each dish. The sunset in the vineyard and overlooking the ocean was spectacular. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a quality and uniquely tailored winery experience In Santorini.

Went with several people that were not overly excited about a wine tasting and two that don't typically drink white wine. With that context, everyone had a great time and enjoyed all the wines.
Pretty blown away by both the wine and the food pairings. 3 whites, 1 red, and a dessert wine all from Santorini grapes. All 3 whites were varieties of acidico and the red was a fairly new grape from the early 2000s. The dessert wine tasted a bit like a young port with lower abv. Food was an individual full salad, individual ceviche dish, two shared dishes (one seafood and vegetables and one meat for the red wine pairing), and home made baklava for dessert. Temperature was surprisingly cool on their patio at 6pm given how hot it was during the day and despite not being able to see the horizon for full effect, great sunset pictures. Hostess very well versed in the history of Santorini wine as well as the specific bottles served.

Quite an odd experience today .Although we were promptly greeted on entry by a friendly staff member we were told sorry you definitely could not do any tastings today and that this is only possible with a reservation .I did notice this on there website but as we were unsure or our movements on the day we just decided to do the walk down from Oia . ( what winery would ever turn away paying customers?)We had full intentions to pay the going rate and try some wines and purchase a bottle or 2. We were seated and our only option was to purchased some glasses in order to savour the products which were fine .We would have loved to see a printed wine list with some brief explanations .There was a modest clientele at the winery but even as tables started to empty a tasting was not an option even though there were plenty of staff on hand who didn’t at all seem rushed or busy. We did have a couple of lovely items from the small bites menu. This business model left me a bit gobsmacked and is vastly different from anything I have experienced before . Sadly we left feeling a bit like second class citizens and missed what could have been a fabulous outing .

Just an okay winery tour - several wines paired with local cuisine were good, but if you are a somewhat picky eater it might not be the best tour. Our favorite wine in America is from here, so that is why we went. But taxis in Santorini are very expensive to / from the hotel so it probably wasn't worth the trip. Glad we went and enjoyed learning about the unique production of these grapes in the volcanic ash, but probably would not revisit on our next trip. Friendly staff and good ambiance at the winery.

My parter and I visited the vineyard. Its not too far to walk to from OIA (around 30m). A lot of vineyards in Santorini require you to drive or get an overpriced taxi. Who wants to drive when going to taste wine? No one.
We walked there and the vineyard is pretty and quaint. There's sunny bits and shady bits, outdoors and indoors to suit all climates. We were greeted with a smile and the staff couldn't be any friendlier. We sat down and the staff explained what they had to offer. They also explained every wine and every cheese that we ordered. There were also 2 friendly cats they own and the staff are quick to ensure that you were OK with them milling around you.
You can either just have lunch and some wine or you can do 3 different wine tasting. The cheapest being at €20 for 5 wine tasters (30ml each) up to €34 for 8 wine tasters. We did the 8 wines and they give you a nice booklet with information on all the wines, how it's made etc and a bit for notes for yourself. This was a great addition we thought as we acted like wine connoisseurs. We also ordered a cheese board for €23 which was a decent size, around 6 cheeses, 2 slices each.
All in all, it came to €116 for the both of us (we had 2 full glasses of our fave on top).
For excursions, you'd expect to spend somewhat €130+ EACH for less.
Once again, the service was above and beyond so thank you.

Sigalas delivers a superb Assyrtiko that truly stands out with its excellent flavor profile. We recently had the pleasure of enjoying this exceptional wine alongside a great meal, and the combination was nothing short of outstanding. The Assyrtiko's crisp, vibrant taste complemented our dishes beautifully, making for a memorable dining experience.

Walking from Oia through villages and seeing the beautiful scenery with a friend we were exited about this highly rated Winery. We were keen trying their best wine and relaxing in this well designed winery shop (though without air con). Our choices of tasting were packages independent of whether we would buy any wine. There was no sign that the employees actually enjoyed their job and they seemed not interested in sharing information or excitement about the brand. We tried a medium package (with tomato sauce and bland cheese...) and were told that only selected wines were available for tasting and sale. After a disappointing and the information that only young wines (2021 & 2022) were available we left feeling most grateful for the water and would remember the winery only for scenery and the ability to buy water. Would you go to a winery where you have to pay for tastings (compared to italy, france & germany) and get only the youngest wines to try without receives any specific service?

Dear Mr. AndreasDir2020,
Thank you for rating us on TripAdvisor.
You have been clearly informed by Sigalas' staff upon your (unannounced) arrival of the available wine tasting options and their prices, which cover our entire range of products (12 labels).
As far as vintages are concerned, our cellar door serves as display for the current vintage; some older ones are for sale indeed at a higher price, but this is something you should not take for granted - it always depends on availability, as our wines typically sell out fast.
Sadly Santorini is not a mass producing wine region, therefore we cannot afford pouring our niche and limited production wines for free to thousands of yearly visitors.
Kind regards,
Spyro Lemanis

We had a joyous experience of wine pairing at the Domaine Sigalas during our Santorini stay. The introduction to the winery and the wine was very informative and we got to hear all about the process and ask any pertinent questions of our very knowledgeable guide.
The 5 wines that we tasted were very pleasant and were all created on the island. There were distinct flavours, which worked perfectly well with the food that was served too. The food itself was exceptional, fresh, with ample portions and timing between the courses.
Although it was quite warm outside, we experienced a lovely sunset over the winery as we supped on the delicious wine and enjoyed the ambiance and food courses throughout the evening.
If we could suggest one negative from the experience, it was the transport too and from the winery. A taxi was VERY expensive to be driven for only 20 minutes. We then booked a taxi for the journey back to our hotel and shared with 2 other guests. Instead of splitting the cost, the taxi driver doubled the total price, which was very naughty!
The taxi experience left a slight sour taste in our mouths, it would be great if the winery had some form of transport or better contacts so that the start and end to the experience were as good as the whole eating and drinking part in the middle!

Dear Ian,
Thank you for your positive feedback and detailed review, highly appreciated.
Sadly we cannot be held responsible for taxi prices nor the behavior of the drivers. We have looked into setting up our own transfer service but the bureaucracy and logistics are too much trouble to overcome for a small business like Sigalas.
I am sorry if this spoiled the good time that you had at our premises and I do hope we meet again in the future.
Best regards,

Our afternoon at Domaine Sigalas was fantastic. We booked the Volcano Diver's Wine Experience and enjoyed every part of it... the walk through the vineyard, the wine (all 5 of them), the food pairings, and especially the attentiveness of our host. Informative, engaging, and relaxing. I highly recommend this winery over other wineries on the island based on the items I already mentioned and the intimate nature of the entire experience. Please enjoy!!!

Traveling with our 18 month old and staying in Oia. Is it possible to walk there from Oia? Not interested in a hike though...
Written July 8, 2019
Not recommended. The winery is about 2-3 miles from Oia and there are hills and steps and you will be on the roadway for part of the time. Taxis is easy to get.

I'm a bit confused by the prices, a lot of reviews mention around 30 Euros for wine tasting but on the website there are only 2 options: 100 Euro or 150 Euro. Is there a menu where you can pick wines and order food separately when you get there?
Written March 11, 2019
Yes, you can taste individual wines and order food without buying the lunch. The lunch is a LOT of food. There are tables set inside and on a terrace. I do not recall the menu but it is not the same as the lunch. It was ala carte. I would suggest an email to the winery for your specific questions.. They speak English and were very responsive. This winery is a long way from the port - 35-40 minutes by taxi as I recall. They buy their grapes from surrounding vineyards, but the tour of the representative vineyard at the winery is worth the time if you are at all interested in this sort of thing.

Hi Kevin P, did you do the wine tasting experience that came with some food pairings (for 100 euro) or the full menu degustation (for 150 euro)? Trying to understand the difference food-wise. Thanks for your help!

The gentleman at the winery encouraged us to share a tasting. I believe we paid $30 Euro total. It included a full flight tasting for us to enjoy at our own pace. We did order some appetizers to munch on, and then a glass of our favorite wine afterwards. All in all it was much less than 100 Euros.

Hi, we came for a wine tasting with Santorini Wine Tours on July 12th. The last one we tasted was a very sweet, barrel aged, gold/brown white wine that was very delicious. I'd like to know the name of this wine because I forgot to write it. Also, I'd like to know if we can find it in Switzerland or order it? Thank you very much!

Domaine Sigalas allows the customer to pick 4, 6, 8 wines to taste and has a nice pairing/food menu as well. We found 6 dry wines - 2 bubbly, 4 red. Lovely shaded spot shown on the pic with vines above.
Kali Riza, 100% Xinomavro, over 100 yrs old vines. #KirYianni was favorite Greece winery. Did not visit Northern Greece where they are, however, #DomaineSigalas Winery is the best winery on Santorini and recommended by #santoriniprincess after a major disappointment at #venetsanowinery (their tasting is only their sweet wines - they will not open their dry reds).
Domaine Sigalas poured their wines (we had 4 of theirs, all very good) and they also pour Kir-Yianni wines - the 2 dry reds from Kir-Yianni were my favorites - both under $20. Also bought another bottle at duty free shop in the airport (similar price).
