Les Jardins d’Étretat is a public avant-garde experimental garden, creative laboratory, open-air museum of contemporary art. The iconic historical view opening from the garden over La Manche and the cliffs continued to inspire such well-known...more
Wonderful! Saw a programme on these gardens and really wanted to go. So worth it! Beautifully designed well-kept gardens. Calm and peaceful despite the many visitors 💚 Pity there were no actors performing on the day of our visit. Amazing view of Etretat. A bit...More
Les Jardines d'Etretat is a beautiful and esoteric garden. There are works of art in the garden, but the garden itself is a work of art. You cannot have a feel of this garden looking at photos, they don't do justice to it. You should...More
We hadn't planned on going here but are we glad we did. What a phenomenal garden of perfectly manicured topiary, sculpture as well as hanging pieces. As you wend your way through the paths, each new view offers another "Wow, look at that!" response. Part...More
Great place for taking a walk around this exotic artistic garden, taking some sun and enoying the view from a distance of the cliffs of Etretat.
The garden is full of heads which seem to emerge from the ground, all with different expressions.
Paris Nord to Les Jardins du Roy via train? (2 Replies)
Hi there, What is the best/cheapest way to get from Paris Nord to the Les Jardins du Roy hotel in st germain? (and also back)? I will be staying a few days and prefer not to take a taxi, thank you!

is this the hotel you are talking about? Hôtel Les Jardins Du Roy Appart-Hotel 5, rue Buffon 75005 Paris - Metro : Gare d’Austerlitz If so it is not in St Germain (6th) at all but on the east side of the 5th district, near Gare d'Austerlitz. The hotel is across the street from the Botanical garden, a pleasant location. From CDG: TAKE RER B direction ‘Robinson’ to ‘Gare du Nord’, then CHANGE to metro line 5 direction ‘Place d’Italie’ to ‘Gare d’Austerlitz’ a 55 minutestrip. Buy your...More

Best way to get from Gare du Nord to Les Jardins d Eiffel (2 Replies)
We are going to Paris late August, and I am not sure what will be the best way to get to our hotel. We arrive at Gare du Nord at 13:00 on 25 Aug, and both of us will have luggage. It looks like la tour Maubourg is the closes stop to our hotel. Any suggestions/advice please!

The taxi line is right outside the station on the west side. Have the address written down, pay the metered fare and €1 per bag. Maybe €20 or less. If you choose the Metro, the underground, one transfer [more steps] will be required.

It looks fine. I would think you could do more in the Bergerac region than you have planned. Perhaps after Monbazillac and the chateau , you could do a small loop on to the pretty village of Issigeac and maybe Eymet or Allemans du Dropt ( the church here has some lovely frescoes ). Unless you are really into wine, I would not think you need a whole day wine tasting in Bergerac. The days will be long so you will get a lot done in one day. Bergerac to Sarlat is not a great distance so I would...More
