Beautiful views

Great to photograph but they kept us there for at least half and hour. The Islands tourist industry is in its infancy, but they need to improve.

To get to know the island of Sao Vicente besides the beautiful capital of Mindelo we booked a taxi and found one with a driver, who happened to be an excellent guide at the same time, speaking passable French: Ivandro, originally from the island of Santo Antao. Since the peak of Monte Verde was covered in clouds we didn't go... More

Beautiful views toward the top of the mountain. The road is winding to the high areas and it is constructed with stones manually.

The only worthwile attraction on the little island of Sao Vicente. Nice excursion with great views. The road is a real feat of engineering and takes you up the highest hill of the island, passing beautiful flowers, small agricultural plots and lots of butterflies.

We took a taxi towards the mountain. The taxidriver wanted to bring us all the way to the top. That was not necessary, because we wanted to walk the final part. It was a clouded day, so sadly we didnt have a good view of the island, but when the clouds were gone the panoramic view was amazing. We couldnt... More

You can climb this hill, but I recomend you to go by car, as it is a long climb. The ay we went it was a bit cloudy, so the views were not very clear, but you can see Mindelo and Bahia das gatass from the top

A #MUST see & feel for those who are planing to visit Cape Verde! Monte Verde (Portuguese... green mountain) is the highest one in S.V, with its 774 meters high! It is possible to take a glimpse at around 60% of this beautiful contrasting volcanic island, and to see the City of Mindelo, Monte Cara, Baía das Gatas, Norte de... More

Accessible by car up to very close to the summit. Alternatively, you can walk using Pitt Reitmaier's map or hiring a local guide. Park next to the telecom station (armed soldiers, no jokes). Walk around its left side and you'll be on the summit in 15-20 min. No special equipment needed. In fact, you'll be walking across vegetable fields, among... More

W were able to drive almost to our top on a stone road, and then walk to the summit. It was extremely windy! There could be good views from the top, but it was quite cloudy when we were there. Much of the top has a communications station, which is restricted and guarded. There is however a reasonable path round... More

The mount verde is an easy hike from Mindelo, you can actually walk there from the city. The path that goes up is wide and ok for taxi all the way to the top because there is some kind of military base up there. So don't expect to go to the very top, you'll have to stay a few meters... More
