Good view but..

The mount verde is an easy hike from Mindelo, you can actually walk there from the city. The path that goes up is wide and ok for taxi all the way to the top because there is some... read more

Accessible by car up to very close to the summit. Alternatively, you can walk using Pitt Reitmaier's map or hiring a local guide. Park next to the telecom station (armed soldiers, no jokes). Walk around its left side and you'll be on the summit in 15-20 min. No special equipment needed. In fact, you'll be walking across vegetable fields, among... More

W were able to drive almost to our top on a stone road, and then walk to the summit. It was extremely windy! There could be good views from the top, but it was quite cloudy when we were there. Much of the top has a communications station, which is restricted and guarded. There is however a reasonable path round... More

The mount verde is an easy hike from Mindelo, you can actually walk there from the city. The path that goes up is wide and ok for taxi all the way to the top because there is some kind of military base up there. So don't expect to go to the very top, you'll have to stay a few meters... More

I visited Monte Verdi during a cruise to South America. We went on a trip from the ship and the views were stunning travelling on a very long cobbled road ,winding up to the top.The views were breathtaking ,although very windy, well worth a visit.

Nice view on top road up is good but the winds were tough. But the prize at the end and half way makes it worthwhile.

We were just so lucky with clear skies. Only on the island for a few hours we took a local taxi for a tour and were rewarded with some great views, particularly of the harbour area. It is a bumpy road but perfectly acceptable and well worth the effort.

It is a long cobbled road which runs from Mindelo up to the top of green mountain, quite narrow in parts with steep slopes in many parts and many bends, some hairpins and with vertiginous drops on the side. It's an experience to drive but it is easily driven. We went up by coach with a group but others went... More

My sister and I decided to walk up Monte Verde as it as an overcast afternoon and we fancied a bit of a hike. We took a taxi to the foot of Monte Verde (although we originally drove past it and had to drive back when we realised we were approaching the other side of the island) and asked the... More

Very nice view, but you need a good timing. Open and clear sky is required. Combine the Monte verde together with a half day drive around the island. Very unique landscape to discover!

Highest point in San Vicente, where you can profit of a privileged view of the island. Make sure it is not cloudy!
