I have done 12 dives with these amazing guys over a 3 week period. We visited various dive sites (3 Grutas, Farol, Tchuclassa, Santo Antao Wreck, Boris Kwarzit Wreck, Baracao/Palmeira Caves).
At all times the very knowledgeable guides and helpful crew members tried to get the most out of the dive sites and conditions for us.
Diving was in groups between 3 and 6, and everything was done to assure that all divers are comfortable at all times (giving a hand to enter the boat, transport of equipment, ...).
You can feel that the employees at eco dive do their jobs by heart, which is another reason why it was a great experience diving with them. The prices for diving I found to be very modest.
Would definitely recommend diving here and not hesitate to come back during another trip to Sal.

We have spend one month in Santa-Maria diving with Eco Dive school. It was a great time, we enjoyed it very much. The dive school is located at the Angulo's beach, very pleasant place for wind-surfers and divers. The stuff is very friendly and kind, we felt like at home there. They have supported us a lot in a difficult moments (not related to diving). It was important for us that our two little kids were also always welcomed in dive shop. We have mostly dived with Dudu, he is a great dive guide, always quiet, confident and positive. He shows the very best of the each dive site and knows them really well. Special thanks for his nice underwater photos and videos! Samba provides perfect organisation, taking into account the diving level and client's wishes. With Fanny we have dived just a little, because she was always busy with her students, but it was a nice experience and it was always nice to chat with her. Many thanks to other members of the team, too, they are very helping and supportive. We hope to come back one day.

From the first e-mail exchange with them I felt the extreme professionalism and care. They don't rush things and always try to give you the best experience.
I had an amazing first dive in the wreck in front of the school (Santo Antão) - great conditions and super fun, with the added bonus of diving just with Fernando, the divemaster.
On the second day a small group of us (5 divers) went further down and explored rocky ledges and caves full of stingrays, turtles, spiders and many other fishes.
I was very impressed by their organization and totally recommend them.

What a fantastic dive school.
I did my open water course having dived only once 25yrs ago. As a complete novice, the main thing I wanted was to feel safe and comfortable as possible. This way I could learn and enjoy my diving experience without having too many nagging doubts or fears. This was easliy achieved by my instructor Fernando's guidance, knowledge and calming influence. This was always without detracting from the enjoyment of the experience. What a top bloke.
Samba,was brilliant. Our chats on the morning drives in, were informative,relaxing and eased my nerves.
The dive centre sat on a beautiful beach. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the centre itself was clean and tidy.
All equipment required was provided and in good condition.
Great dive sites with plenty to see and explore, and always considerate of the wildlife and habitat.
I passed my open water, and came away confident in the skills I have been taught.
If I'm lucky enough to return to Sal, I would not hesitate to dive again whith such a fantastic dive school.

First of all, I want to say thank you! Thank you for this nice time I had during my Open Water Diver Course. I learned a lot and gained a lot of experiences.
I had my own personal teacher (Ilson) who made a really good job!
I ever felt comfortable with what I’m doing and he gave me all the time the feeling to trust into myself.
The dive sites we visited were also more than awesome! We saw a lot of fishes, some turtles and also some sharks while diving in open water.
I really enjoyed these days and can just recommend to everyone to go to this diving school for diving!
Not just my teacher is very nice also the other staff is very very kind.
If I come back to Sal I will definitely come back for diving!
And again: thank you very much!!!

The staff of the Eco Dive School takes great care to offer a 360° perfect diving experience: The knowledgeable guide took me to all the great diving sites of Sal, making sure to not repeat dive sites where possible. The rest of the staff follow most efficient procedure to get you as quickly, safely and conveniently into the water as possible. I definitely would dive with them again; highly recommended!

The whole team made me feel so sfe and welcome, Eco Dive School was my home during my stay in Snta Maria, Sal, Cabo Verde. I did the Open Water Diver Course with Ilson, and I’m so happy and grateful. He taught me so much. I also did 6 dives with Dudu, he showed me how fun diving is and we got to discover many different creatures in the water. So happy we were only a few divers everytime. Everytime I came to the Dive Center Samba made me feel seen and welcome. Thank you Fanny for the photos. The whole team is hard working and super friendly. Thank you so much for everything, will definitely come back!

Despite the COVID situation, we had two great diving days organized in advance by email with Sandra. Once arrived in Sal, we were warmfully welcomed by Samba who managed the office. Then, our divemaster Dudù was really professionnal and we felt confident when diving with him. We had a great experience seeing a very diversified submarine life with big turtles as a bonus =)

Eco dive school is professional, eco-conscious and proper establishment. We’re very happy that we got to dive with them for almost two weeks during Christmas. We did our advanced open water certification, and we were able to both feel safe but also accountable for our own learning, which is imperative as a diver. 10/10! Would love to come back some day, preferably in the summer when the weather allows better conditions and underwater visibility.

I just had my very first scuba dive experience and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to do it! :)) People working at Eco Dive School are super professional, attentive and kind. I always felt in good hands. Starting from friendly Samba who helped us to arrange our first scuba dive experience to Fanny who was our super instrutor. Without them, the experience wouldn’t have been the same :)) Being under water is a truly unique experience and I super recommend this place to try it out!

J'aurai aimé savoir s'il serait possible pour mes 2 garçons (15 et 18 ans bientôt) de passé leur niveau 1 open water pendant les vacances avec vous du 21 au 28 février 2020 ? Pour ma part, j'ai déjà mon niveau 1 mais plonge une fois par an donc je pourrai accompagner ou faire quelques plongées ensuite avec eux ? et j'aimerai aussi connaître vos tarifs pour les garçons (leur niveau 1 avec plongées, leçons, et tout inclus) et quelques plongées pour moi avec location du matériel etc ... inclus dans le prix ? Merci d'avance de votre retour, j'attends celui-ci pour finaliser les réservations vols et hôtels qui sont prêts à être finalisés sur mon ordinateur ! :) Merci d'avance, Cordialement.

ich plane gerade meine Urlaubsreise für Ende Oktober 2019.
Dabei wollte ich ein paar Punkte Vorab klären:
• welche Sichtverhältnisse erwarten mich, und welche Wassertemperaturen (bin Warmduscher)
• welche Konditionen gelten für die Tauchgänge, insbesondere wenn Lungenautomat und Computer vorhanden sind
• wird verbleibende Leihausrüstung (Anzug, Flossen) separat abgerechnet
• gibt es Pakete
• gibt es ggf. einen Shuttleservice zu Hotels, wenn ja, welche

ich habe gerade mit Erschrecken gesehen, dass Du bereits vor 2 Monaten auf Antworten gehofft hast. Keine Ahnung, warum wir nicht von TripAdvisor informiert wurden. Sorry!
Hier nun unsere Antworten:
• Sichtverhältnisse in der Regel zwischen 10 und 20 m, Wassertemperaturen Ende Oktober ca. 25-26°C.
• Es gibt keine ungeguideten Tauchgänge, dafür ist der Atlantik zu eigensinnig. Wir machen generell am Vormittag einen Doppel-TG mit der Oberflächenpause auf dem Zodiac, und einen Einzeltauchgang am Nachmittag.
• Unsere Tauchpakete berechnen sich ohne Leihausrüstung (Beispiele: 3 TGs bei Vorab-Buchung per Email 102 €, 5 TGs 165 €, 10 TGs 315 €, komplette Liste auf unserer Homepage), Ausrüstung, die benötigt wird, kommt individuell oben drauf.
• Abholung von allen Hotels im Gebiet von Santa Maria kostenlos.

Hi! What would you recommend for beginners? Myself and my friend are coming for a week and would love to do some diving. I did the PADI junior seal certficate a long time ago and my friend has no experience at all, so we're both basically beginners! Both strong swimmers however. Thanks in advance!

I can completely recommend Eco Dive School whatever diving you want to do, be it accompanied diving uncertified, or completing your Open Water. If doing the OW be prepared to set aside 3 to 4 days and a bit of time studying. But all the staff at Eco Diving are really friendly and excellent instructors, the kit is good, and there's a good variety of dive sites for all levels of experience. Hope this helps.

Hallo Lara,
vielen Dank für Deine Nachricht und das Interesse am Tauchen mit Eco Dive School Cabo Verde.
Für Tauchinteressierte ohne Tauchschein bieten wir Discover Scuba Diving (DSD), eine Schnuppertauch-Erfahrung an einem Tag. Ein DSD besteht aus einem gründlichen Briefing, gefolgt von einigen Übungen im Pool, um sich an die Unterwasser-Umgebung und die Tauchausrüstung zu gewöhnen, und zu lernen, mit kleinen Schwierigkeiten umzugehen, die während des Tauchgangs auftreten könnten (z.B. Wasser in der Maske).
Später, normalerweise am Nachmittag, fahren wir mit unserem Boot zu einem unserer flachen Tauchplätze (maximal 12m) für einen Tauchgang (ca. 30-40 Minuten, abhängig vom Luftverbrauch). Ihr seid die gesamte Zeit in Begleitung eines unserer erfahrenen Tauchprofis, der Euch auch die interessantesten Dinge unter Wasser zeigt und Euch alles erzählt, was Ihr über die Tiere und Pflanzen wissen wollt, die Ihr zu sehen bekommt.
Der DSD kostet 95 € pro Person, inclusive der kompletten Ausrüstung. Wenn Ihr Spaß daran habt, könnt Ihr anschließend gleich einen Tauchschein machen (z.B. den Scuba Diver oder Open Water Diver). Der DSD kann auf diese Kurse angerechnet werden – sowohl in Bezug auf die Inhalte als auch auf die Kosten. Der Scuba Diver (maximal erlaubte Tauchtiefe 12m, Tauchen nur in Begleitung eines Tauchprofis) würde dann nur noch 1 1/2 Tage dauern, der Open Water Diver (max. Tiefe 18m, unabhängiges Tauchen erlaubt) noch ca. 3 Tage.
Wie lange seid Ihr beiden denn da? Wir sind nämlich in den nächsten 5 Tagen schon so gut wie ausgebucht. Osterferien eben... Ab dem Wochenende wird es wieder etwas ruhiger.
