Square Eddy isn’t the biggest whitewater rafting company in the area but that it what makes our experience great. Personalized trip. Our guide and owner, Link, was the absolute best. I was apprehensive at first but that quickly disappeared when I realized this guy knows what he’s doing. We didn’t just get a great raft trip but paddled full speed into extra experiences. If you take a trip with Link or his partner you will understand once you’re finished. Just go for it. You won’t regret this trip.

This was an AMAZING experience and Square Eddy made it all possible! We were in amazing hands from start to finish with the expertise of our guide, Tim, who knows the river inside and out. Our family (parents, two teens and one almost 9 year-old) had tons of fun and were smiling and laughing the entire time. We *highly recommend* using Square Eddy for their expertise, attention to detail in our experience, yummy lunches, and making it so much FUN. We are so glad we chose this company for our first (and certainly not the last) rafting trip.

My friends and I had an incredible and full day on the River with Square Eddy.
If I had to guess, I’d say the owners of this company are probably the most experienced guides on the river. Their great attitude and passion are evident and I felt like they were just overjoyed to be sharing the wonders of the river with us.
From the safety instructions, to the provided lunch, to the actual rafting - everything was perfect and I remember thinking several times that I was thankful to be with Square Eddy after observing all the different fine folks on the river that days
One of the people I brought on this trip has a strong fear of water (can’t swim) and was very nervous going into it. Our guide, Lori Phoebe, had him calm, cool, and collected the whole time! He kept saying her voice and instructions were so calming and he even got in the water several times. We all had a great time and are ready to come back for more!

Excellent day of rafting on the river with Square Eddie. No one knows the Indian River, Hudson River and the Hudson River Glen as well as Link . We had a small crew of experienced rafters, so the trip was not new to us. However Link pointed out things that only a guide with many years of experience with this area and this water body would know. He made the entire trip enjoyable, changeling, and educational. The lunch provided by Lori was perfect, refreshing, healthy and delicious! The cold brews at the end of the trip were an added treat!
Should you decide to do a whitewater trip on the Hudson in North Creek/Indian River, the only choice is Square Eddie! You won’t be sorry or disappointed, regardless of your experience level. It is a must when visiting the Adirondacks.

We had the BEST time with Link, Max, and Square Eddy! We just so happened to book our trip before we knew a huge storm was blowing through, pummeling the area with rain. In the 12 hours before our scheduled trip, Link and Lori did a great job communicating with us, letting us know the status of our trip and adjustments that needed to be made for safety as the water kept rising. In the end, they felt it was not only a safe trip, but going to be really fun. I won't lie, my heart skipped a beat hearing the safety instructions thinking I was likely going for a swim, but Link kept us feeling safe the whole time and knows so much about the area - we felt confident heading into some gnarly waves! We laughed so hard and had SUCH a blast - it's going to be disappointing ever doing this again not after a storm! Cannot say enough great things about Square Eddy and the amazing hospitality - they also packed us a yummy homemade lunch and gave us snacks and cold ones after an AWESOME adventure!!!

The best! Big enough to serve small enough to care. They are very engaged in making sure u have the best experience and very kind. From the first greeting they made you feel like best friends and that vib emulated the entire trip. Going back for a day on the river with entire family soon.

My husband, our two teens and I had the pleasure of spending a day on the river with Lori Phoebe. Even though it was a rainy day, we had her sunny personality to help us make a great run. I felt like she knew the river like a musician knows a piece of music. She told us stories about the history of the logging on the river, and about the other rafting trips she has made all around the world. She also introduced us to surfing, which the kids loved. To top if all off, lunch was delicious. We had so much fun. Thanks, Lori Phoebe!

Square Eddy is a small founder operated business and their passion really shows. No "guides for the season" here, like you'd find at bigger rafting operations in the area. These are lifelong lovers of the Adirondacks and super knowledgeable about this stretch of river. They were easy to communicate and coordinate with, flexible and patient, and most importantly gave us a great and exciting trip down the Hudson.

This is a really cool review, thank YOU! Yes, we are long time lovers of the Adirondacks so proud of the beautiful place we live in and this river is so sweet! This was our fourth rafting adventure with Square Eddy Expeditions. As always, they never fail to provide an awesome experience. They are able to give an attention to detail that I feel some of the larger companies just can not provide. Whether it's the homemade food or the welcoming atmosphere, they put forth a positive energy that can not be matched.

Square Eddy may be a smaller business but make no mistake they will exceed your expectations! Link and Lori along with their "family staff" made the whole day nothing but safe, educational, and mostly fun. The whole trip is centered around creating a personal experience. Link was an extremely knowledgable and engaging guide who left nothing to chance. Lori packed a delicious healthy lunch including several snacks right down to homemade lemonade! The whole trip was orchestrated with safety and fun in mind, the Hudson was beautiful and even though this was our first time white wtaer rafting the whole family felt confident and had a great time. By the day's end you feel like part of the family, truly a memorable trip!!!

Does anyone ever fall in? Could the boat overturn? I’m older and a total non swimmer. i.e. is it safe?

It seems quite safe in this season. Yes the occasional person falls in but everyone has super floaty life jackets and helmets on and you get yanked back in immediately. No one from our boat fell in. You do get to hop out and float along in stretches of calm waters and it’s not scary at all. I would not worry... just enjoy!! You’ll be so glad you went!
