My husband and I had the pleasure of going to revolutionary rail in North Creek New York. It was on our bucket list and it was our anniversary weekend.

We took the 4 p.m. North run, which was the last run of the day, it was from 4 PM to 6 PM. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jennet and Molly who were extremely nice. We were then asked to board a cute painted school bus which was driven by Paul, he was also great and friendly and filled with lots of helpful information and just very pleasant. It was a 8 minute bus ride to the north rail starting point.

There we were greeted by Isa and Angelo and they were our guides for the day and they were amazing !!!!! It was a beautiful ride on the rail that went all along the Hudson river bank which was extremely picturesque, it went through some also beautiful wooded areas, and then over the stunning bridge which was fabulous.

Once we reached our destination we took a 20 minute break and we took snacks in our bottled water and sat down by the running river which was beautiful. Then we re-boarded our bikes again that were turned around to head back and did the exact same route on the way back.

I would highly recommend it it was absolutely beautiful it was not that hard to do the peddling, in total it was 2 miles each way.

They also had a super cute gift shop that I purchased a ornament as well as a sweatshirt so we could remember the fabulous day we spent at the rail.

This place never disappoints, we’ve been here about 4 times now and if you visit Lake George and don’t visit Rev Rail, you will be missing out. Great for kids of any age and not hard at all. The views are amazing both north and south trails, we have done several time slots but I think the early morning is the best, the sun is low, not as hot and you may see a deer or two out eating. I cannot recommend this enough, you will just have to try it yourself, you won’t regret it. And did I mention the staff is great? One of the most humble and kind human beings you can ever meet!

We were a team of 4 kind of seniors. We had no idea what to expect. .The trip left on time. It was 4 miles out and 4 miles back with a short break at the mid way point. It was a very very hot day 90+ and we were worried. The cars are very very easy to pedal making a breeze as you go along the river. Most of the trip is in the woods. We Stopped at some picnic tables in the woods by the river and were given a history lesson while they turned the carts around. It started to rain on the way back but it felt Great. They did supply rain ponchos and umbrellas to the group leaving. There is a place in the back for a cooler or a bag. Little kids had like a car seat . I just wish there were pouches on the back of the Quad bike to put your phone for quick access.
Very Fun adventure and different. The catch 22 is if you wait for the weather report you will get sold out. If you do not wait for the weather report you may get wet. Bring a change of clothes and enjoy.

We had a great time riding the rail bike at Revolution rail co. We took the north bridge run. At the station you will sign in and get a brief overview of what’s to come plus the rules of what and what not to do.

A short bus ride gets you to your starting point (and also reminds you of when you used to actually fit into those school bus seats…lol)
At that point the guides and bikes are ready and after a quick lesson on how to set up and use the bike you’re off.

Even though it was a hot day the ride gave you a nice breeze and kept you out of the sun due to the tree cover.

It’s a great experience, lots of fun and we can’t wait to do the other runs that are available.

If I had one critique it would be that the bikes should be numbered or somehow identifiable and to let everyone know to stick with the bike they started with. When they flip the bikes around at the end of the run for the return trip there was some confusion and other people jumped on the bike we were using even though our stuff was in the basket. Also once you have the seats set to you’re specs it’s a pain to have find another bike and do it again when everyone’s waiting and ready to go.

The experience is unique, a little pricey though for a 2-hour roundtrip bike along an unused railroad track. My friend and I did not have the luxury of reserving a car so we decided to show up for a possible cancellation. Not a good idea. You will not get any encouragement from the crew who seem to have their tasks lined up like an assembly line from receiving riders to waiver signing to safety orientation. There is a 72- hour cancellation policy hence anyone not showing up will not get a refund. Being that we came from afar (CT and NY), we cannot just let this opportunity pass. I think we just got lucky that day as there was a lone car unoccupied as the last of the bikers rolled away. Overall, the trip was fun, safe and relaxing. The route (South) we took was fairly benign, no steep climbs, no dizzying drops. You will just roll along close to the calm river at a pace not too fast you are within a stone throw's away from the car ahead or behind you.

We took the new South River Run and it was a lot of fun despite the rainy weather. We came prepared with rain ponchos and plastic bags to put keys/phone/etc in while we were riding. It wasn't pouring so the weather wasn't really a factor and didn't take away from the trip. The staff is super friendly and they explain everything very well. My only 'complaint' would be that it's really not a two hour trip. It went much quicker than expected and we were all pedaling at a moderate rate. Between the training in the beginning and the somewhat short distance, it's not a two hour excursion. Due to this, I think the pricing is high.

Fun experience, however if you haven't been on a bike in awhile the "slight incline " gives your legs a workout. In regards to Covid 19, they did not sanitize the bus between groups. Suggestion: For safety reasons, after you check in at the railroad, everyone should have driven their own cars to the location where you board the rail bikes. (there's enough room for parking). Your Car most likely has air conditioning, the bus does not, and your not exposed to germs on the bus, since it was not sanitized between groups. Next time, I will follow the bus in my own car.

A great time, we went with 7 people, 5 teens, we all had a wonderful time. We did the 11am South River run that going right along the river most of the way. Before we departed we observed the employees placing umbrellas in each car, and thank god they did! On our way out before the turn around point it started to POUR! Yes, we got wet but would have been drenched have they not been observant of the weather. You can go as fast or slow as you need to. A fun ride. Book then, you will have a great time!

Our group of 4 just had the absolutely best time on this rail bike. While my companions are in perfect shape, I am disabled. Not only did the company accommodate me for the ride out, they made sure were were all set for the return! There was a safe place for my legs as I could not pedal. While you must have some control of your legs, this ride can be done without pedaling as long as you have willing partners. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company. As for the ride, you follow the Hudson River, you can hear it when it is hidden behind the trees and is a beautiful sight when it is within view. It was a full tour, however, there was no crowding and perfectly safe. We did the North Run as I am unable to ride the bus. My guess is the South Run is just as fabulous judging by the smiles of those returning from the bus they ride to get to their start/finish.

I give this 5 stars but there is one suggestion. Perhaps when we stop for pictures the employees could offer to take some with our own cameras. Otherwise they are available on Flikr. Our picture came out fine, others, well, not so much. We weren't on the ride for pictures so we are still quite happy.

I have already recommended this to friends and family. For us it was a 5 hours ride round trip and I would do it again!

My grandson and I had a wonderful time pedaling on the rails along the Hudson River south of North Creek. The scenery was gorgeous! It was a warm day but we entered plenty of shady areas. Pedaling was easy for this 80 year old, and we covered the 8 mile round trip with no problems, great exercise. Highly recommended.
