First of all - this place is located in a convenience store. We passed it several times while looking for it because the outside appearance is underwhelming to say the least. And once yoiu get inside, you will not be instantly struck by anything grand. But once you get a close up look at some of the vessels people have used to go over the falls, and read some of the articles, you get sucked in. What were these people thinking? What is wrong with them to make them think going over NF [a few more than once] is a good idea? You won't know when you leave, any more than you did going in but the stay is pretty darned interesting! There is no admission, just a can for donations if you wish.

The Daredevil Museum of Niagara is free for a reason...it's a glorified souvenir stand. I did like reading about people going over the falls in barrels and even a Waverunner (which unfortunately failed), but the people that run the place seem to get antsy if you don't make your way over to the Niagara souvenir section. God forbid you take one of their "free" maps without purchasing anything. You get the evil eye. It's worth a quick stop on your way to the Falls, but the merchandise they carry is a dime a dozen. There was one saving grace to this store, Nik Wallenda just crossed the Falls this past June so they have some of his merchandise for sale.

This venue was very interesting showing and clearly explaining the people who dared to try to go over the Falls and in what apparatus. The means that each used are on display and their methods explained.
We then went into the IMAX theatre which is attached to the museum. The movie was very interesting but very, very dated.

All the reviews regarding the IMAX are referring to the WRONG daredevil museum. This museum is officially closed. We were there Tuesday June 11th, 2013. There is a for sale sign on the building and we were told by a local business owner that it officially closed the week before. There is however a daredevil museum on the canadian side inside the IMAX theatre next to the skylon theatre. But if you are looking for the one on Rainbow blvd in NY, stop looking. IT is closed!!

We made a one day trip to Niagara so our two kids, ages 11 and 12, could see the amazing falls. We had hoped to make this one of our stops, but it is closed and for sale.
It might be a great place if it was open.

Not really a museum but a convenience store with some memoralilia of those who have gone over the falls. It is free though and worth taking a look at.

The cost is $2.50 per person and inside are the vessels that daredevils used to ride over the falls. The vessels, photos, and info are very interesting and even our kids (ages 6 and 7) enjoyed it! It's small but took about 30 minutes for us to look at and read everything. We liked touching and looking inside the vessels.

This is an extremely impressive collection of memorabilia. The man who was behind the counter at the store was a super nice guy, and someone who helped some of the daredevils get ready for several of his stunts -- this is why he has those barrels etc. There are videos playing, tons of press clippings on the walls and stuff going all the way back to Annie Taylor, the first person to survive going over the falls. it's also a convenience store and gift shop with a good variety of standard Niagara Falls souvenirs as well as daredevil souvenirs. Considering the museum is free, with free parking, we were thrilled to spend money there and support this nice guy -- my 10 year old son got a daredevil shirt, and a book of daredevil history as well as niagara falls postcards and playing cards. I highly recommend this fun place.
